A design masterpiece that captures the adrenaline of combat in every detail, ready to dominate your display.
The scene
This sculpture captures Leonardo in his iconic role within the crossover between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Usagi Yojimbo. The specific appearance depicted is that of the turtle ninja exactly as it appears in the pages of this historic collaboration’s comics and the subsequent animated series, sharing the screen with the famed samurai rabbit. The figure faithfully recreates the character’s aesthetics and demeanor in that precise narrative context, celebrating the meeting of the two universes in the most authentic way possible.
The character
For over forty years, Leonardo embodies the archetype of the silent, disciplined leader, the tactical anchor that keeps the tension between wild instinct and rigid Bushido code together. In this narrative context, his role transcends mere clan leadership: he becomes the ideal bridge connecting the Ninja Turtles universe with the world of Usagi Yojimbo’s samurai. This intersection is not merely a style exercise but a tribute to the shared narrative heritage of both franchises, where Leonardo’s double-blade sword resonates with the honor and tradition of Stan Sakai’s sagas. For collectors, this piece crystallizes a decade‑spanning editorial dialogue, turning ninja ethics into a visual tribute to the prestige of comic book history.
Why collect it
This figure represents far more than a simple accessory: it is the pinnacle of NECA’s Ultimate line, a strategic choice for those looking to solidify their collection with high‑grade pieces. The intersection between TMNT and Usagi Yojimbo offers a rare opportunity to own a crossover that unites two icons of Japanese and American animation, making this Leonardo a distinctive and sought‑after piece. With its deluxe packaging and the typical build quality of 7‑inch scale, it is not just an object to display but a statement of intent for any NECA enthusiast who wants to close the loop with the definitive version of their favorite ninja.
