From the mist of New York's swamps emerges an iconic duo: Genghis and Rasputin, the most eccentric and memorable Frog Ninja villains of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saga. This NECA collectible set brings them to life with meticulous detail, capturing the essence of these classic antagonists that shaped the series' history, ready to complete your display with a splash of green chaos and razor‑sharp humor.
The Scene
These figures faithfully capture the iconography of the two villains as they appeared in the iconic 1987 animated series. Genghis Frog is portrayed in his distinctive punk look, complete with outfit and accessories that made him memorable to first‑time fans, while Rasputin completes the duo's visual dynamic. The graphic rendering reflects the original style, offering a precise snapshot of their television debut for fans of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
The Characters
In the mythology of the 1987 animated series, Genghis and Rasputin are not mere soldiers, but the diamond‑cut leaders of the Punk Frog faction, a group of mutant frogs recruited by Shredder to challenge the Ninja Turtles. Their narrative value lies in a perfect blend of punk aesthetics and martial skill: they possess a unique street‑wise attitude and extraordinary aerial combat abilities, thanks to their powerful leaping skills that make them unpredictable opponents in any clash. Named after infamous historical figures, these two characters quickly won fan favor for their eccentricity and crucial role as loyal allies of the Foot Clan leader. In this continuity, their presence completes the picture of the primary antagonistic forces, giving collectors the chance to recreate classic battles against Splinter’s Turtles and pay homage to two of the most memorable villains of the '80s comic and animation golden age.
Why Collect It
For a collector, the true value of this duo lies in the rarity of owning both pillars of the Punk Frog faction together—often hard to find in complete sets. It’s more than just two figures; it’s a piece of '80s animation history with priceless visual authenticity: its display turns a simple exhibit into an instant call‑out for fans of the 1987 series. The NECA line guarantees that the chaotic energy and distinctive design of Genghis and Rasputin are preserved with the care they deserve, making this set an emotional and visual investment that completes any TMNT collection with a touch of pure, irreplaceable nostalgia.
