The apocalyptic fury of Blackest Night takes tangible form with Deathstorm, the powerful builder of the Black Lanterns team. This McFarlane Toys figure captures the threatening essence of the character in a design that blends the spectral aura of the saga with the typical sturdiness of the DC Multiverse line. A piece that is not just an addition to your display, but a portal straight into the darkest depths of the DC universe.
The Scene
The figure recreates the pivotal moment when Deathstorm, turned into a Black Lantern during the Blackest Night saga, rises to defend the Black Lantern Battery. The scene captures the intensity of his clash against the Justice League, placing the character at the center of the battle for control of the ring energy.
The Character
The true tragic essence of Deathstorm lies in his hybrid construct nature: he is not a simple zombie animated by Nekron's will, but the violent fusion of Firestorm's Matrix and the dark energy of the Black Lanterns. This makes him a unique entity among other Black Lanterns, as he has maintained the unlimited power of his heroic counterpart, making him a cosmic‑level threat. His narrative arc, introduced in Blackest Night #1, positions him not as a mere soldier but as a central autonomous antagonist, capable of acting with intelligence and purpose. This particular version captures the moment when his necrotic and decaying form becomes definitive, marking a pivotal turn in DC's horrific lore, where the most powerful elemental hero of Earth is reduced to a distorted nightmare, guided by the purest darkness.
