The Scene
This sculpted figure depicts Superman in his most tormented and iconic appearance during the Dark Nights: Death Metal saga. The character is captured wearing his unsettling solar prison outfit, a visual detail marking his status as a prisoner. The distinctive and shocking element of this appearance is his stone right arm, wrapped in heavy chains that visually portray the battle against the dark forces of the DC universe in this specific narrative arc.
The Character
In the role of Superman during Dark Nights: Death Metal, the character goes through his darkest moment: captured by Darkfather during the Dark Multiverse invasion, he is imprisoned in the core of a dying sun on New Apokolips. Here, the Death Drive subjects him to constant torment, bombarding him with all forms of Kryptonite to turn him into a living battery. This version is not just an aesthetic variation, but represents the narrative heart of the crossover event, capturing the resilience and suffering of a hero pushed to the extreme limits of his existence.
