Cronologia
Panoramica
Battle of Saiyans is a prize figure line produced by Banpresto (under Bandai Spirits), predominantly released as part of the World Collectable Figure (WCF) brand.
Positioned as a specialized collectible tribute to the most dramatic duels and transformations of the Saiyan race, the line depicts iconic characters from Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball universe in a compact form factor standing approximately 7 centimeters (2.75 to 3 inches) tall.
Originally distributed as Japanese arcade crane game prizes and through hobby retailers, the figures showcase famous head-to-head confrontations across Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and movie specials. Beyond the core WCF static figure series, Bandai has expanded the Battle of Saiyans title into the digital card game market via the Dragon Ball Super Divers ecosystem, while Banpresto has spun off companion figure series such as Blood of Saiyans.
Storia
Banpresto introduced the WCF Battle of Saiyans line in June 2016. The initial release, Volume 1, focused on early Dragon Ball Z and Saiyan Saga duels, featuring characters like Son Goku, Vegeta, Bardock, Frieza, and Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan.
Throughout 2016 and 2017, Banpresto released subsequent volumes that systematically covered key story arcs: Volume 2 highlighted the Cell Saga and classic movie villains; Volume 3 covered the Buu Saga through Resurrection 'F'; and Volume 4 featured TV specials like Episode of Bardock and Broly feature films.
In 2017 and 2018, Volumes 5 and 6 shifted focus toward Dragon Ball Super, adding modern transformations including SSGSS Goku, SSGSS Vegeta, Kefla, and Toppo. High collector demand led Banpresto to re-release Volume 6 in June 2021. In August 2026, the brand expanded into Bandai's Dragon Ball Super Divers digital arcade ecosystem with a dedicated Battle of Saiyans card booster set.

Collezionismo
For Dragon Ball enthusiasts, Banpresto's Battle of Saiyans line provides a compact way to recreate iconic anime confrontations. Because the figures share a standardized 7cm World Collectable Figure footprint, collectors can build extensive battle dioramas without requiring large cabinet spaces.
The line holds strong appeal on the secondary market because Banpresto prize figures are distributed through Japanese claw machines and limited hobby runs. Certain volumes containing popular Dragon Ball Super characters—such as Volume 6 featuring Hakaishin Toppo and Kefla—commanded high enough aftermarket demand to prompt an official re-release in 2021. The expansion into card collections with high-rarity God Rare (GDR) chase cards further broadens the brand's collectibility across figure and card markets.
Volume 4 of the WCF line recreated the Episode of Bardock special, featuring Super Saiyan Bardock against Chilled.
