Cronologia
Biografia

Harold "Hal" Jordan is Earth's primary Green Lantern and a central figure in the DC Universe. Originally serving as an Air Force pilot and test pilot for Ferris Aircraft in Coast City, Hal's life changes dramatically after he discovers the crash site of an alien spacecraft carrying the dying extraterrestrial Abin Sur.
The alien's power ring selects Hal for his ability to overcome great fear, inducting him into the intergalactic police organization known as the Green Lantern Corps. Hal is a founding member of the Justice League of America alongside Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Barry Allen (The Flash), Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter.
Across his career, he balances his cosmic duties in Sector 2814 with his personal life on Earth, including his relationship with Ferris Aircraft executive Carol Ferris and his close friendship with mechanic Thomas "Pieface" Kalmaku. Throughout his history, Hal has navigated heroic triumphs and profound personal tragedies, including his tragic fall into madness as Parallax after the destruction of Coast City, his subsequent death while reigniting Earth's Sun, and his ultimate resurrection and redemption to lead the Green Lantern Corps into new cosmic eras.
Storia

Hal Jordan grew up with a passion for flight, eventually becoming a daring test pilot for Ferris Aircraft in Coast City.
His destiny shifted when Abin Sur, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, crash-landed on Earth while mortally wounded. Abin Sur commanded his power ring to seek out a worthy successor capable of overcoming great fear.
Choosing Hal over all other candidates on Earth, the ring granted him the power to join the Green Lantern Corps under the guidance of mentors like Thaal Sinestro and drill sergeant Kilowog. Shortly after receiving his ring, Hal joined forces with Earth's top heroes in The Brave and the Bold #28 to form the Justice League of America.

Evoluzione
Hal Jordan debuted in 1959's Showcase #22 during the Silver Age of Comics, created by John Broome and Gil Kane as a heroic, sci-fi test pilot succeeding Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott. In the 1970s Bronze Age, writers Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams evolved Hal in the Hard-Traveling Heroes run (Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76–89), pairing him with Oliver Queen on a cross-country journey to address real-world social problems such as racism, corruption, and addiction.
The 1990s marked Hal's darkest arc: following the destruction of Coast City in 1993, Hal succumbed to grief, slaughtered fellow Lanterns, destroyed the Central Power Battery on Oa, and became the villain Parallax in 1994's Emerald Twilight. He sought redemption in 1996's The Final Night by sacrificing his life to reignite the Sun, subsequently serving as the host for The Spectre in 1999's Day of Judgment. Writer Geoff Johns revitalized Hal in 2004's Green Lantern: Rebirth by establishing Parallax as a fear entity that possessed Hal, returning him to his role as Earth's premier Green Lantern. This era expanded the Green Lantern lore into an emotional spectrum during sagas like Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night. In the Dawn of DC run (2023), Hal returns home to Coast City, constructing a ring forged directly from his personal willpower.
