Cronologia
Biografia
Dr. Baxter Stockman is one of the oldest and most persistent enemies of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A brilliant, sociopathic mad scientist, Stockman is driven by personal ambition, greed, and a total disregard for ethics.
He is best known as the creator of the MOUSERs (Minefield Ordnance Unarming System Enhanced Robots), bipedal machines originally designed to exterminate rats but frequently deployed for criminal masterminds or personal gain.
Throughout various iterations, Stockman works alongside major antagonists such as The Shredder, General Krang, and TCRI. Despite his scientific genius, his dealings with warlords and villains regularly lead to betrayal, horrific physical mutilations, or forced mutations. In the IDW comic continuity, Stockman operates as the head of StockGen before leveraging political alliances with the Foot Clan, Utroms, and the Pantheon to become the Mayor of New York City.
Storia
As a young boy, Baxter was taught how to play chess by his father, Dexter Stockman, in order to hone his intelligence, tactical abilities, and strategic skills. Baxter later used those exact attributes to strip StockGen away from his father.
Under Baxter's leadership, StockGen employed scientists like John O'Neil, Lindsey Baker, Chet Allen, and April O'Neil.
Stockman entered into a covert partnership with the Utrom warlord General Krang, who supplied him with resources to engineer a supersoldier mutagen, a intelligence-enhancing psychotropic compound, and biological body armor based on turtle shell anatomy. In his original 1984 comic debut with Mirage Studios, Stockman hired April O'Neil as his lab assistant while secretly using his army of MOUSERs to tunnel into bank vaults. When April discovered his criminal scheme, Stockman tried to kill her, bringing him into direct conflict with the Ninja Turtles for the first time.

Evoluzione
Baxter Stockman's design and characterization have undergone significant physical, ethnic, and narrative transformations since his 1984 debut. Originally created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as an African-American scientist in Mirage Studios' TMNT #2, his ethnicity was changed to Caucasian for the 1987 animated TV series. He was restored to an African-American character in the 2003 animated series and has consistently remained Black across all subsequent IDW comic continuities, animated shows, and live-action films. Physically, Stockman rarely remains purely human.
In the 1987, 2012, and animated film adaptations, he undergoes a horrific transformation into a giant humanoid fly known as Stockman-Fly. In contrast, the Mirage comic line and 2003 animated series depict a darker physical degradation where Shredder or his own failed experiments progressively dismember his body, reducing him to a cybernetic eye and brain inside robotic suits or a glass jar. Politically and narratively, Stockman evolved from a simple bank-robbing scientist into a master manipulator who successfully runs for office and becomes the Mayor of New York City in the IDW comic series.
