Cronologia
Biografia
Aragorn II, son of Arathorn II, is a central figure in the War of the Ring and the legitimate heir to the High Kingship of Arnor and Gondor. Raised in secret in Rivendell under the name Estel, he was kept unaware of his royal lineage until the age of twenty to protect him from Sauron's forces.
After learning his true identity as the heir of Elendil and Isildur, Aragorn became the sixteenth Chieftain of the Dúnedain and led the Rangers of the North in guarding the lands surrounding the Shire. During the War of the Ring, Aragorn met Frodo Baggins in Bree under the moniker Strider, guiding the Hobbits safely to Rivendell.
Upon joining the Fellowship of the Ring, he assumed leadership of the company following Gandalf's fall in Moria. After the Fellowship broke at Parth Galen, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli pursued captured Hobbits across Rohan, fought in the Battle of the Hornburg, and traversed the Paths of the Dead to summon the Dead Men of Dunharrow. Unfurling the royal standard at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and healing the sick in Minas Tirith, Aragorn proved his right to be crowned King Elessar.
Storia
Aragorn descended from Elros Tar-Minyatur through the Lords of Andúnië to Elendil. His lineage united both royal branches of the Dúnedain through his ancestor Arvedui and Fíriel, making him the last descendant of both Isildur and Anárion. When Aragorn was just two years old, his father Arathorn was slain while hunting Orcs.
Fearing for her child's safety, his mother Gilraen took him to Rivendell, where Lord Elrond fostered him and concealed his true name, calling him Estel ('Hope'). In TA 2951, when Aragorn turned twenty, Elrond disclosed his heritage and delivered to him the Ring of Barahir and the Shards of Narsil. Around this time, Aragorn met Elrond's daughter, Arwen, and fell in love with her.
Taking up his duty in the wild, Aragorn traveled extensively across Middle-earth, including journeys into Moria and Harad. Between TA 2957 and TA 2980, he served incognito in the military forces of King Thengel of Rohan and Steward Ecthelion II of Gondor under the name Thorongil ('Eagle of the Star'). In TA 2980, Aragorn reunited with Arwen in Lothlórien, where she pledged her hand to him, though Elrond decreed they could only marry once Aragorn achieved the kingship of both Gondor and Arnor.

Evoluzione
Aragorn's arc represents a transition from a hidden exile to the triumphant ruler of the Reunited Kingdom. Raised in obscurity as 'Estel' in Rivendell, his life changed at age twenty when Elrond revealed his identity as the Heir of Isildur. For decades, he lived a transient lifestyle as 'Strider', serving in distant lands under aliases like 'Thorongil' to combat Sauron's influence without claiming his throne.
During the War of the Ring, Aragorn evolved from a protective guide for the Hobbits into the undisputed leader of the free forces of Men. The reforging of Narsil into Andúril marked his formal acceptance of his royal legacy. By mastering the Palantír of Orthanc, summoning the Army of the Dead, and leading the armies of Gondor and Rohan, Aragorn fulfilled the prophecies of his house and transitioned from a solitary Ranger into King Elessar.

Before discovering his royal ancestry at age twenty, Aragorn was given the hidden foster name 'Estel', which translates to 'Hope'.
