VICTOR CREEL
Victor Creel is a tragic figure in the Stranger Things universe, a World War II veteran wrongfully imprisoned for decades for the 1959 murders of his wife and daughter. His harrowing history provided the critical key for the Hawkins survivors to understand and resist the psychic influence of his son, Henry Creel, also known as Vecna.
Cronologia
Biografia
Victor Creel is introduced as a haunting mystery within Hawkins, Indiana, initially thought to be a gardener who lost his mind and slaughtered his family in 1959. In reality, Victor is a shattered survivor of both World War II and a supernatural haunting.
After being framed by his son Henry for the horrific deaths of his wife Virginia and daughter Alice, Victor was committed to Pennhurst Mental Hospital as a prisoner declared criminally insane. By 1986, Victor had become a local legend, a 'boogeyman' story told to frighten children.
Physically blinded by his own hand in a desperate suicide attempt to escape his visions, he remained at Pennhurst until Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley sought him out. His testimony regarding the 'demon' in his house and the role of music in his survival became the turning point in the battle against Vecna, saving the lives of the next generation of Hawkins teenagers.
Storia
Born in the late 1910s, Victor served as a soldier in France during World War II, where he carried the trauma of unintentionally ordering the shelling of a civilian home.
Seeking peace, he eventually moved his family to Hawkins in March 1959 after his wife inherited a small fortune. However, his son Henry had already been altered by an encounter with Dimension X in a Nevada mineshaft.
Henry used his newfound psychic abilities to torment the family, eventually killing Virginia and Alice while trapping Victor in a psychic trance. Victor spent decades in Pennhurst, mutilating his eyes with razor blades to stop the visions of the 'demon' he believed killed his family, unaware that his son had survived and been taken by Dr. Martin Brenner.
Evoluzione
Victor Creel's arc moves from a figure of horror to one of profound tragedy. Initially presented as the primary antagonist of a 30-year-old cold case, the revelation of his innocence transforms him into the series' ultimate victim.
His character serves as the bridge between the 1950s origins of the Hawkins Lab program and the 1980s conflict. By the series finale in 1989, his name is cleared in the eyes of the survivors, though he remains a scarred witness to the decades of destruction initiated by his son's transformation.
Da Collezione
In the world of collectibles, Victor Creel is a unique addition often sought by horror enthusiasts due to his connection to actor Robert Englund. The standout piece is the Victor Creel Funko Pop!, released as part of the Pop! Digital/NFT collection in 2024.
This release is highly prized, particularly for the autographed physical versions. Because of his distinctive, sightless character design, figures of Victor Creel are considered 'character grails' for fans who appreciate the darker, psychological aspects of the Stranger Things franchise.

Victor spent nearly 30 years believing Henry had died in a coma a week after the massacre.
