Cronologia
Biografia
Jameson Locke is a former Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Acquisitions Specialist who rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander before joining the UNSC Spartan Branch as a Spartan-IV officer. Known for his tactical intellect, logic, and loyalty to his team, Locke serves as the squad commander of Fireteam Osiris.
His career spans covert intelligence operations, asset recovery, target elimination, and frontline Spartan missions. Following his success during the Sedra Crisis and the destruction of the Alpha Shard deposit, Locke underwent SPARTAN-IV augmentations and was outfitted with custom HUNTER-variant MJOLNIR GEN2 armor.
He subsequently led Fireteam Osiris in Operation: KAMCHATKA, where he eliminated Covenant remnant leader Jul 'Mdama, and was later tasked with capturing Master Chief (John-117) and Blue Team after they went AWOL during the Created Crisis. Locke's service record extends through critical military operations on Meridian, Genesis, and Sanghelios alongside the Arbiter, as well as secret missions such as Operation: BREAKER TRIP leading up to the conflict at Zeta Halo. Despite his strict adherence to logic and orders, Locke remains internally reflective regarding the morally gray directives of the intelligence agency he served.
Storia
Jameson Locke was born on March 15, 2529, on the human colony world of Jericho VII. In 2535, when Locke was six years old, Jericho VII was invaded and glassed by the Covenant Empire.
Tragically, his parents were killed during the assault, but Locke was evacuated minutes before the planet's destruction and subsequently raised in a UNSC state orphanage.
Unlike many orphans who joined the standard UNSC military, Locke worked as a freelance tracker before being recruited into ONI Section III as an Acquisitions Specialist. Reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander, he specialized in asset retrieval and target assassinations, even drafting an early ONI dossier recommending the assassination of Covenant Supreme Commander Thel 'Vadamee. In 2556, Locke led an ONI unit to investigate a biological weapon on Sedra, which led him to a fragment of Installation 04 known as the Alpha Shard, where he assisted in detonating a nuclear device to neutralize the threat.

Evoluzione
Jameson Locke's character arc undergoes a significant evolution from a secretive intelligence operative into a frontline Spartan commander. Starting his career as a freelance tracker and ONI Acquisitions Specialist, Locke functioned primarily in the shadows, executing high-priority tracking, asset recovery, and assassination target profiling—including a proposal to eliminate Supreme Commander Thel 'Vadamee. His field experience on the Alpha Shard during the Sedra Crisis demonstrated his tactical capability in combat and leadership under extreme pressure.
Following his transition into the SPARTAN-IV program, Locke stepped into a public military role as the leader of Fireteam Osiris. In *Halo 5: Guardians*, Locke is positioned as a direct counterweight to Master Chief John-117, tasked with pursuing humanity's greatest military icon. Throughout this pursuit, Locke evolves from strictly following ONI protocols to acting on pragmatic combat leadership and mutual respect, ultimately fighting alongside John-117 to stop Cortana's Created uprising. By the time of *Halo Infinite*, Locke's role returns to high-stakes black ops like Operation: BREAKER TRIP against the Banished.

Locke's production codename during the casting of Halo: Nightfall was 'Marlowe'.
