ANGELA
Angela is a unique figure in comic history, transitioning from a celestial bounty hunter in the Spawn universe to the long-lost Asgardian princess Aldrif Odinsdottir in Marvel Comics. Originally created by Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane, she is a fierce warrior whose journey spans the realms of Heaven, Hell, and the Marvel cosmic landscape.
Cronologia
Biografia
Angela began her existence as a high-ranking Angel and bounty hunter from the First Sphere of Heaven, dedicated to hunting Hellspawn for over 100,000 years.
She is a master tactician and combatant, known for her cold efficiency and her status as one of the few beings capable of truly threatening a Hellspawn's existence. In her original continuity, she was a recurring antagonist and eventual ally to Al Simmons before her tragic death in Hell.
Following a landmark legal transition, she was reintroduced into the Marvel Universe as the firstborn daughter of Odin and Freyja. Kidnapped during a war between Asgard and the Tenth Realm (Heven), she was raised by the Angels of Heven as one of their own. Today, she is a powerful cosmic player who has served with the Guardians of the Galaxy and led the Asgardians of the Galaxy, balancing her ruthless angelic training with her royal Asgardian heritage.
Storia
In her 1993 debut, Angela lured a Medieval Hellspawn into a trap by posing as a distressed maiden before killing him with her Dimensional Lance. She later stood trial in Heaven for hunting without a permit, an event that explored the bureaucracy of the afterlife.
Her story in the Image Universe concluded in Spawn #100, where she was killed by the demon lord Malebolgia while assisting Spawn in a raid on Hell. Her Marvel origin reveals that during the war with the Tenth Realm, the Queen of Angels kidnapped the infant Aldrif to spite Odin.
When the Queen's attempt to kill the baby seemingly failed, the infant was discovered by an Angel who raised her as 'Angela.' She remained unaware of her true lineage until the fracturing of space-time during the Age of Ultron event pulled her into the Prime Marvel timeline, eventually leading to the revelation of her identity as Thor’s sister.
Evoluzione
Angela's evolution is one of the most drastic in comics. She began as a 'bad girl' trope of the 90s, characterized by minimalist armor and a ruthless, single-minded focus on hunting.
Over time, her character deepened through legal battles and a shift to Marvel, where she transitioned from a supporting antagonist to a fully fleshed-out lead. Her Marvel era introduced more complex themes of identity, displacement, and queer romance through her relationship with Sera. By 2026, she has evolved into a mystical guardian, often working alongside Doctor Strange, representing a bridge between Asgardian magic and angelic warfare.
Da Collezione
For collectors, Angela is a staple across two major eras. Early fans seek out the original McFarlane Toys figures from Series 2 (1995) and the more detailed Series 21. In the modern era, Hasbro's Marvel Legends has released highly sought-after versions of her, including her Guardians of the Galaxy outfit and the 'Asgard's Assassin' look.
The 'Ace of Spades' legendary skin from the 2026 Marvel Rivals game has sparked a new wave of interest in high-end statues, with brands like Iron Studios and Sideshow often being the go-to for her intricate ribbon-and-armor designs. Grail items include the limited 1994 Image gold-foil comics and the rare Marvel Rivals crossover variants.

She once served as the Queen of Hel after overthrowing Hela to save her partner, Sera.
