ADAM
Prince Adam is the central protagonist of the Masters of the Universe franchise, a royal heir to the throne of Eternia who transforms into the legendary hero He-Man. Initially introduced as a tribal barbarian, the character evolved into a champion who wields the Power of Grayskull to defend his realm from the forces of Skeletor.
Cronologia
Biografia
Prince Adam of the House of Randor is the chosen champion of Eternia and the primary guardian of Castle Grayskull. While he often presents himself as a wayward or carefree royal, he leads a double life as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.
In modern interpretations, Adam is a brave and kind youth who values his friends and family above all else, often acting as the heart of the Masters of the Universe team. As He-Man, he stands several feet taller and possesses a vastly increased muscular physique.
Clad in armor inspired by the technology of Castle Grayskull, he serves as a symbol of hope. Whether he is operating as a lone hero or leading a group of empowered allies, Adam's role is defined by his willingness to sacrifice his immense power for the greater good and his innate connection to the cosmic forces of his planet.
Storia
Adam was born a Prince of Eternia to King Randor, but his childhood was marked by tragedy. At a young age, he was abducted by his evil uncle, Keldor, who attempted to use the boy to unlock the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
During a confrontation with the Sorceress, Keldor chose the path of Havoc, resulting in a magical backlash that scarred him and left young Adam with amnesia.
Found and adopted by Cringer of the Tiger Tribe, Adam grew up in the wild, unaware of his royal heritage for a decade. He eventually reclaimed the Sword of Power, which restored his memories and allowed him to transform into He-Man. In the 2026 cinematic timeline, his origin is reimagined as Adam Glenn, a boy sent to Earth at age ten who lived as a human before discovering his destiny and returning to Eternia to reclaim the Power Sword.
Evoluzione
Adam’s character has undergone significant shifts since his 1981 debut. He began as a simple barbarian from a desert tribe, but the 1983 series introduced the iconic 'secret identity' of the seemingly clumsy Prince.
The 1990s saw him evolve into a galactic guardian in a sci-fi setting, while the 2002 series portrayed him as a younger, more relatable 16-year-old. The 2021 CGI series further innovated the character by allowing him to share his power with a team, moving away from the 'lone hero' archetype. Finally, the 2026 live-action film introduces 'Adam Glenn,' a version of the character who must rediscover his lost heritage after growing up on Earth.
Da Collezione
For collectors, He-Man is the cornerstone of the action figure world. Mattel has produced various iconic lines, with the original 1982 'Vintage' figures remaining high-value grails, especially when found mint-on-card.
The 'Masters of the Universe Classics' line (2008–2020) is considered the gold standard for its detailed sculpting and comprehensive character roster. More recently, the 'Origins' line caters to retro enthusiasts, while the 'Masterverse' series focuses on modern media designs. High-end collectors often seek out the 1/6 scale figures from Mondo or the premium statues from Iron Studios and Sideshow Collectibles.
Adam is the first hero in the franchise to discover he can share the Power of Grayskull with others to create a team of Masters.
