Biografia

Savage Opress was a Nightbrother from the planet Dathomir, born as the son of Mother Talzin and biological brother to Maul and Feral. Initially a tribal leader, his life took a dark turn during the Clone Wars when he was selected by Asajj Ventress to serve as a weapon for her revenge against Count Dooku.

Through a grueling 'Selection' process and the use of Nightsister magick, Opress was physically mutated into a monstrous warrior with amplified strength and aggression. To seal his loyalty, he was forced to murder his own brother, Feral, before being presented to Dooku as a new Dark Acolyte. Under Dooku's tutelage, Opress became a ruthless enforcer, slaughtering Jedi and clone troopers alike.

However, he eventually rebelled against both Dooku and Ventress, fleeing back to Mother Talzin. It was then he learned that his long-lost brother, Maul, had survived his encounter with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo. Opress spent months tracking Maul to the junk world of Lotho Minor, eventually rescuing him from madness and becoming his apprentice. Together, they forged the Shadow Collective, a massive criminal empire that seized control of Mandalore, only to meet his end at the hands of Darth Sidious, who viewed the brothers as a threat to his own power.

LO SAPEVI?Savage Opress actually killed Jedi Master Adi Gallia by impaling her with the horns on his head.

Storia

The origins of Savage Opress are rooted in the matriarchal society of the Nightsisters on Dathomir. As a young child, he witnessed the Sith Lord Darth Sidious taking his brother Maul away, an event that left a lasting scar and a fear of the 'monster' who had stolen his kin.

Growing up as a Nightbrother, Savage lived a simpler, though harsh, life alongside his other brother, Feral, in their village. He was known as a brave and protective warrior long before he was ever touched by Sith alchemy.

His transformation was not of his own choosing but a result of Mother Talzin's political maneuvering and Ventress's need for a puppet. The magick that turned him into a hulking brute stripped away much of his former compassion, leaving behind a creature of pure rage. This tragic transformation is the core of his character; he was a man forced to trade his humanity for power, eventually becoming a Sith apprentice who was never quite 'like' the brother he sought to serve.

LO SAPEVI?At the moment of his death, the Nightsister magick left his body, causing him to shrink back to his original, non-mutated physical form.

Evoluzione

Savage Opress's evolution is one of the most drastic physical and psychological shifts in Star Wars history. He began as a compassionate protector of his brother Feral, possessing a 'natural ability' for combat but lacking the cruelty of the Sith. His transformation via Nightsister magick was not just aesthetic; it fundamentally altered his personality, making him prone to uncontrollable fits of rage and violence.

However, as the Clone Wars progressed, Savage began to show signs of regaining his own will, specifically when he chose to seek out Maul rather than remain a pawn of the Nightsisters or the Separatists. Despite his massive power, his final moments revealed a tragic self-awareness; as the magick faded from his dying body, he reverted to his original slim form and lamented that he was never truly like Maul, acknowledging that he was a victim of circumstances beyond his control.

LO SAPEVI?His first actual appearance in Star Wars media was in a 2011 Free Comic Book Day issue, which released before his television debut.

Da Collezione

For collectors, Savage Opress has recently entered a 'Golden Era' of high-end releases. The definitive modern piece is the Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series (Deluxe) 6-inch figure released in April 2025, which perfectly captures his hulking silhouette compared to standard figures.

For those seeking museum-quality detail, the Hot Toys 1/6th Scale Figure (scheduled for 2025-2026) is the current 'grail' for many, featuring a screen-accurate armored look and his iconic double-bladed lightsaber. In the tabletop world, his 2026 expansion for Star Wars: Legion has become a must-have for Separatist Alliance players. Older items, like the LEGO minifigure from the 2011 era and high-rarity cards from the Star Wars: Unlimited TCG (specifically the 'Imbued With Hate' variant), continue to see strong value trends due to the character's unique design and limited number of physical releases compared to major film characters.

LO SAPEVI?He is one of the few characters in the series to successfully Force choke both Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress at the same time.
