Born in 2672 into the wealthy Brinkman family, August's life was shaped by the shady backroom deals of his parents, which eventually led to their deaths and left him a billionaire orphan. Seeking an outlet for his self-destructive fury, he joined the Thunderdome Games in the late 2690s.
There, he met the love of his life, Sok Leng Phua, and together with her brother Kit Siang, they became an legendary combat trio. However, August’s obsession with the crowd's adoration led to a fatal mistake in 2715; his failure to provide cover resulted in Kit Siang’s permanent death.
Overwhelmed by guilt, August retreated into his mansion for nearly twenty years, living as a reclusive alcoholic and driving away his wife and their son, Nathaniel. His isolation ended in 2734 when he discovered Nathaniel had qualified for the Apex Games. To save his son from the tragedy that ruined his own life, August broke into the offices of Duardo Silva and negotiated a trade: his return to the games in exchange for Nathaniel's disqualification. Since May 2023, he has fought as a Legend, utilizing the very skills that once brought him both glory and ruin.
