Originally a scavenger surviving on the scraps of the Galactic Civil War, she discovered a profound connection to the Force after encountering the droid BB-8 and the defector Finn. Her journey led her to the legendary Luke Skywalker and ultimately to a confrontation with her own dark lineage.
As the survivor of a rare Force Dyad with Ben Solo, Rey possesses immense power that allowed her to confront and destroy the resurrected Emperor Palpatine on Exegol. By 50 ABY, she had ascended to the rank of Jedi Grand Master, dedicating her life to establishing a New Jedi Academy and ensuring the future of the Jedi Order. Born in 15 ABY on the planet Hyperkarn, Rey was the daughter of Dathan and Miramir. Dathan was a 'strand-cast' clone of Darth Sidious, though he lacked his father's Force sensitivity.
To protect Rey from the Emperor’s search for a powerful vessel, her parents fled into hiding as junk traders.
In 21 ABY, they left the six-year-old Rey on Jakku under the care of the junk boss Unkar Plutt to keep her hidden from the Sith assassin Ochi of Bestoon. Shortly after, her parents were murdered by Ochi on the Emperor's orders. Rey spent the next thirteen years living in a toppled AT-AT walker, scavenging parts from the Starship Graveyard to trade for food, and holding onto the hope that her family would one day return for her.
