Biografia

Arriving on Earth in 1997, the City Hunter was deployed to Los Angeles under the watchful eye of Elder Greyback to test his skills in the 'concrete jungle.' Amidst a brutal drug war between Colombian and Jamaican cartels, the Predator systematically slaughtered gang members, viewing the chaos as the perfect hunting ground.

However, his overzealous and aggressive nature eventually drew the attention of the LAPD and the secretive OWLF government task force led by Peter Keyes.

His hunt became personal when he developed a deep respect for Detective Mike Harrigan, whom he viewed as a worthy 'warrior.' After claiming the trophies of Harrigan's partners, the City Hunter was eventually lured into an ambush at a slaughterhouse. Despite his advanced technology, he was severely wounded and pursued to his Mother Ship hidden beneath the city. In a final duel on the vessel, Harrigan used the Predator's own Smart Disc to deliver a fatal blow, ending the young hunter's life before the rest of the Lost Tribe reclaimed his body.

LO SAPEVI?After the character loses his arm in the film, he was played by one-armed stuntman R. David Smith.

Storia

The City Hunter's origins are rooted in the Yautja culture of trial and progression. As a newly Blooded warrior, this hunt was intended to be his first off-world trial.

While other members of his tribe scattered across the globe, the City Hunter was granted the specific territory of Los Angeles.

His youth contributed to a personality characterized by overconfidence and a preference for close-quarters brutality. Unlike the Jungle Hunter of 1987, the City Hunter was tasked with navigating a densely populated human environment, forcing him to adapt his tactics to urban verticality and man-made structures.

LO SAPEVI?The City Hunter stands 8 feet tall, making him slightly taller than the Predator from the 1987 film.

Evoluzione

Designed by Stan Winston’s team to be 'more urban and hip' than the original Predator, the City Hunter introduced a more detailed and aggressive aesthetic. His design evolved from the simple mesh of the first film to include ridged bronze armor and a steeper, more horned brow ridge.

While the Jungle Hunter was a patient, solitary ghost, the City Hunter was characterized by a reckless, almost 'vigilante' style of hunting that included engaging large groups of enemies simultaneously. This evolution from stealth-focused to combat-heavy has made the City Hunter the blueprint for most modern Predator gaming appearances and collectible designs.

LO SAPEVI?The name 'City Hunter' was not in the original script but was popularized by the 2005 game Concrete Jungle.

Da Collezione

For collectors, the City Hunter is a cornerstone of any Yautja display, largely due to his extensive arsenal. NECA remains the dominant brand for this character, with their 'Ultimate City Hunter' being a long-standing favorite.

In June 2026, NECA is set to release an 'Ultimate City Hunter Upgrade' featuring double-jointed articulation and a light-up gauntlet. Additionally, a highly anticipated 'Poster Series' figure is scheduled for Q4 2026, which features cel-shaded paint to mimic the original 1990 movie poster. These figures are prized for including the Smart Disc and the expandable Combistick, which were groundbreaking accessories at the time of the film's release.

LO SAPEVI?The Predator's bronze-colored bio-helmet was a deliberate design choice to contrast with the silver helmet of the first film.
