Produced by McFarlane Toys, this figure captures the essence of the Image Comics Founders Series, delivering detailed fidelity that celebrates not only the character but the golden age of independent comics. A piece that blends the iconic status of Image’s founder with the artisan quality expected by the most discerning collectors.
The Scene
This figure captures the iconic essence of ShadowHawk as we knew it in the 1990s comics, faithfully reproducing the classic design created by Jim Valentino. The look reflects the character's pure and recognizable aesthetic, taking him directly from the printed page to your display environment.
The Character
The true essence of ShadowHawk lies in his role as an unrelenting crusader: he is not a mere vigilante, but the embodiment of the Spirit of Justice, guided by an advanced exoskeleton that amplifies his strength against criminals who prey on the innocent. Paul Johnstone's portrayal, who assumed the mantle after contracting HIV, adds a tragic and motivational depth to the character, turning his struggle into an act of redemption and resilience. This version captures the pivotal moment when the character became a pillar of the 1990s independent comic scene, representing the raw and uncompromising ethics that defined Image Comics' era. For the collector, owning this figure means honoring not only an iconic design but also the narrative significance of a hero who redefined the bounds of the vigilante superhero in independent comic history.
Why Collect It
For a collector, this figure is not just a decorative item, but a piece of underground narrative history. Being part of the prestigious Image Comics Founders Series means owning a direct tribute to the original creators, elevating the item from a simple toy to an editorial heirloom. The Elite Edition finish, with its manic attention to detail, guarantees that every fiber of the costume and every nuance of expression capture the dark, intense atmosphere of 1990s comics. It's the kind of piece that turns a plain shelf into a statement of intent: for those who love the rawest, most authentic side of superheroes, ShadowHawk in this guise is an essential addition, capable of delivering that thrill of satisfaction that only the most iconic and exclusive McFarlane pieces can provide.
