Overview
McFarlane Toys entered the Wizarding World franchise after securing a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products in 2018.
Designed primarily in a 7-inch scale, the product line offers action figures and deluxe creature boxed sets based on the Harry Potter film series and Fantastic Beasts prequels.
The line targets action figure collectors and Wizarding World fans by pairing high-detail sculpts with 22-point 'Ultra Articulation', character-specific wands, dynamic display bases, and printed background artwork inserts.
History
Following the 2018 license acquisition, McFarlane Toys officially unveiled its initial Wave 1 line in mid-2019. This first wave focused on character appearances from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
Alongside the core action figures, McFarlane expanded into deluxe creature collectibles between 2019 and 2020, releasing large-scale figures of Buckbeak the Hippogriff and the Hungarian Horntail dragon.
In 2023 and 2024, McFarlane integrated Wizarding World characters into broader crossover lines, including a limited-edition Movie Maniacs WB100 figure celebrating Warner Bros.' 100th Anniversary and an 11-inch PVC display statue under the revived McFarlane's Dragons banner.

Collecting
McFarlane Toys' Wizarding World line appeals to collectors due to its detailed sculpts, companion Patronus accessories, and detailed creature builds. The incorporation of 22-point Ultra Articulation and backdrop artwork inserts makes figures attractive for both in-box display and loose posing.
Limited-run releases like the WB100 Movie Maniacs Harry Potter—capped at strictly 10,000 units—hold particular value for completionists. Additionally, crossover releases in lines like McFarlane's Dragons ensure that major creatures from the franchise remain sought-after pieces among display enthusiasts.
The Hungarian Horntail dragon was released under two distinct McFarlane lines: first as a Deluxe Box Set in 2019/2020, and later as a standalone PVC display statue in McFarlane's Dragons line in 2023/2024.
