TURTLES IN TIME
Produced by the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), the Turtles in Time action figure line translates the retro 16-bit aesthetic of Konami's iconic video game into physical collectibles. Featuring a 7-inch scale and pixelated color shading, this specialty sub-line offers arcade-accurate representations of classic TMNT heroes and bosses. From hoverboard-equipped Turtles to time-traveling villains, the series captures one of the most beloved eras in Ninja Turtles video game history.
Cronologia
Panoramica
The Turtles in Time action figure line is a specialty 7-inch scale collectible series manufactured by the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA).
Debuted as a tribute to Konami’s legendary 1991 arcade and 1992 Super Nintendo (SNES) beat 'em up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, the line focuses on capturing the distinct visual charm of 16-bit video games.
Positioned as a premier sub-line within NECA's broader TMNT collector offerings, these figures stand out through custom sculpts and unique pixel-shaded paint applications that simulate the look of CRT arcade screens and video game sprites.
Storia
First unveiled by NECA at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the Turtles in Time figure line officially launched in early 2020 with Wave 1, featuring Leonardo, Donatello, a Foot Soldier, and Slash.
Wave 2 followed in mid-to-late 2020, completing the heroic quartet with Michelangelo and Raphael alongside bosses Leatherhead and Super Shredder.
To further expand the roster, NECA introduced exclusive releases through Loot Crate—such as the glow-in-the-dark Shell-Shocked Electrocuted Turtle in 2020—and deluxe offerings in 2021 like Ultimate Baxter Stockman and the Pirate Bebop & Rocksteady 2-pack boxset.

Collezionismo
For TMNT fans and retro gaming collectors, NECA's Turtles in Time line represents a uniquely nostalgic intersection of action figures and 16-bit arcade lore. The line's primary appeal lies in its commitment to translating two-dimensional sprite shading into physical three-dimensional sculpts.
Collectors highly prize the complete team of four Turtles due to their matching futuristic hoverboards, which allow for dynamic display options. Rarity and secondary-market demand are driven significantly by limited distribution channels, such as the Loot Crate exclusive Electrocuted Turtle and the Pirate Bebop & Rocksteady 2-pack boxset.

The Pirate Bebop and Rocksteady figures were specifically sculpted to match their time-travel appearance in the 1530 AD "Skull & Crossbones" stage.
