Cronologia
Panoramica
ReAction Figures ("Retro Action") is a retro action figure line created by Super7. Designed as an explicit homage to the aesthetic of classic late 1970s and 1980s "Kenner era" toys—pioneered by Kenner's iconic 3.75-inch Star Wars line—ReAction Figures capture the nostalgic charm of vintage action figures.
Standard figures are crafted in 3.75-inch scale featuring 5 points of articulation, retro sculpting, period-accurate paint application, and custom cardback packaging complete with stylized original artwork and blister bubbles.
Originally launched to realize unproduced vintage prototype figures, the line has expanded into a massive pop-culture platform. Produced independently by Super7, alongside a brief joint production era with Funko between 2013 and 2016, ReAction Figures cater to nostalgic collectors, horror fans, music enthusiasts, and pop-culture completionists. Its extensive catalog spans feature films, classic television, arcade video games, heavy metal and hip-hop icons, comic books, and original Super7 properties.
Storia
The lineage of the ReAction Figures line originates in 1979, when Kenner designed 3.75-inch prototype figures for Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror film Alien. Due to concerns regarding the film's R-rating, Kenner canceled production prior to release, making photos of the prototypes famous in collector lore.
In 2012–2013, Super7 founder Brian Flynn and designer Frank Supiot obtained access to the original 1979 Kenner sculpts and secured licensing rights from 20th Century Fox, officially debuting the ReAction line at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 with the original Alien set.
To scale mass distribution, Super7 partnered with Funko in late 2013 under the "Funko x Super7 ReAction" imprint, expanding into major film and TV licenses such as Back to the Future, Pulp Fiction, and The Goonies. In 2016, Super7 resumed full independent control over design, licensing, and manufacturing. Super7 has since expanded the format to include 12-point articulated O-ring ReAction+ figures and extensive music mascot series.

Collezionismo
ReAction Figures occupy a distinct position in action figure collecting by combining nostalgia with modern pop-culture licensing. The line's core appeal lies in providing retro 1970s and 1980s Kenner-style representations for franchises that lacked figures during their original release periods. Due to the custom artistic detail on the backing cards, many collectors preserve figures Mint On Card (MOC) as displayable pop-art pieces.
Secondary market value trends are driven by event exclusives, early San Diego Comic-Con releases, limited music artist collaborations, and convention variants. Early 2013 debut sets, such as the unproduced 1979 Alien figures, as well as short-run band variants like the Misfits Fiend or Ghost's Papa Emeritus figures, command higher collector premiums. The addition of the ReAction+ O-ring line continues to drive interest among vintage 1980s action figure collectors.

The ReAction line was born from unproduced 1979 Kenner prototypes for Ridley Scott's Alien that were canceled due to concerns over the film's R-rating.
