Based on the action-RPG mobile game set in a dark-fantasy divergent universe, the line showcases beloved Disney and Pixar characters radically reimagined as battle-hardened 'Guardians.' In this alternate reality powered by Stellar Magic, iconic figures abandon their traditional appearances to equip combat armor, weapons, and mystical gear in order to defend the Stellar Mirror from dark crystal monsters known as the 'Fractured.' McFarlane Toys launched the physical toy line in 2021, targeting both Disney fans and action figure collectors.
The collection was released across three main scales: 5-inch figures with standard articulation, 7-inch figures featuring McFarlane’s signature Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts, and massive 12-inch Megafig statues designed as display centerpieces. The history of the Disney Mirrorverse toy line began following the soft launch of Kabam's mobile game in April 2020. On July 23, 2021, McFarlane Toys officially announced its partnership with Disney, dropping Wave 1 shortly thereafter. This initial wave introduced 5-inch figures of Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Belle, and Sulley, along with 7-inch versions of Buzz Lightyear and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Wave 2 arrived on March 4, 2022, introducing 5-inch figures of Donald Duck, Baloo, and a 'Fractured' Sulley variant, alongside 7-inch figures of Genie and a Fractured Jack Sparrow, plus 12-inch Megafig statues of Sorcerer Mickey Mouse and Sulley. Following the mobile game's global launch in June 2022, McFarlane released Wave 3 in December 2022, featuring Anger, Baymax, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.
In 2023, McFarlane shifted focus toward limited retail exclusives, releasing an Amazon Gold Label Glow-in-the-Dark Buzz Lightyear in March, followed by two Gold Label 3-pack bundles in August. Following Kabam's announcement in September 2024 and the permanent mobile server shutdown on December 16, 2024, no active figure waves remain in production, cementing McFarlane's action figures as the definitive physical legacy of the franchise.
