Cronologia
Panoramica

Produced by Mego Corporation following its relaunch by Marty Abrams and Joel Rosenzweig, the Mega Figure line consists of 14-inch action figures built on a 1/5 scale.
Designed as a large-format expansion of Mego's classic 8-inch (1/9 scale) design format, the line debuted in July 2018 as a Target exclusive before expanding across major pop culture licenses.
Mega Figures feature between 14 and 26 points of articulation combined with real fabric tailoring and tailored cloth costumes. The line spans iconic comic book characters from DC Comics, legendary sci-fi figures from Star Trek: The Original Series, horror icons, and sports figures. Packaged in collector-friendly window boxes, Mego's Mega Figures bridge retro cloth-costume aesthetic with modern articulation standards for large-format action figure collectors.
Storia

Mego Corporation was originally founded in 1954 and became famous in the 1970s for its 8-inch licensed action figures before ceasing operations in 1982. In 2018, co-founder Marty Abrams partnered with Joel Rosenzweig to relaunch Mego Corporation.
The new 14-inch Mega Figure line was formally unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2018 alongside an autographed promotional figure of football legend Joe Namath. The line made its retail debut in Fall 2018 exclusively at Target stores with waves limited to 10,000 units per character, featuring flagship DC Comics heroes like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
In 2019 and 2020, Mego expanded the 14-inch format to include Star Trek: The Original Series characters alongside updated DC New 52 designs. Between 2021 and 2022, Mego collaborated with Topps on limited weekly online drops for figures like Black Adam. From 2023 onward, Mego introduced PREVIEWS Exclusive runs capped at 5,000 pieces—such as Deathstroke and Batman Beyond—while celebrating 50 years of Mego superheroes with upgraded 26-point articulation bodies distributed through specialty online retailers.
Collezionismo
The 14-inch Mega Figure line holds a unique position among action figure collectors by upgrading Mego's signature retro aesthetic into a prominent 1/5 scale. Collectors are drawn to the combination of classic cloth-tailored outfits and modern structural improvements, such as 26-point articulation bodies. Scarcity plays a significant role in value trends across the line.
Early 2018 Target exclusives were produced in limited runs of 10,000 units per character, while modern PREVIEWS Exclusive releases are capped at just 5,000 units worldwide, boosting secondary market demand for figures like Deathstroke and Batman Beyond. Web-exclusive drops through Topps and promotional releases like the SDCC autographed Joe Namath figure represent key grail items for completionists. Available through specialty online outlets like Entertainment Earth, BigBadToyStore, and Amok Time, the line continues to maintain strong collector appeal.

The 14-inch scale represents a 1/5 scale version of Mego's classic 8-inch (1/9 scale) design.
