Storia
The DC Retro line made its official debut in 2021, initially launching as a Target exclusive focused on the iconic 1966 Batman live-action television series starring Adam West and Burt Ward.
Across 2021 and 2022, the lineup rapidly expanded to encompass deep-cut villains, allies, vehicles like the Batmobile and Batcopter, and expansive playsets such as the Wayne Manor Library.
In 2023, McFarlane Toys broadened the scope by introducing figures based on the Batman '66 DC Comics series, Filmation's 1977 animated series The New Adventures of Batman, and Wonder Woman '77. Starting in early 2024, the line underwent a major thematic shift toward Hanna-Barbera's classic Super Friends animated series, expanding through multiple waves into 2026 with fan-favorite heroes and Legion of Doom roster additions.

Collezionismo
Collecting McFarlane's DC Retro line offers a dedicated avenue for fans of vintage DC media and 6-inch scale action figures. Launching as a retail exclusive at Target in 2021, the line quickly built secondary market interest around limited Platinum Chase figures such as the Unmasked Robin and Warpland Superman.
Larger scale vehicles and environment playsets like the Batcave and Wayne Manor Library serve as anchor grails for dedicated displays. The line's strategic pivot into animated rosters such as Super Friends and Filmation's 1977 Batman series keeps collector demand high for deep-cut characters rarely produced in modern figure lines.
The 2026 Super Friends Wave 6 includes a 'Man-Eagle' Warpland Superman variant inspired by the classic animated series.
