The product line launched in 2017 under its initial moniker, 'D-Select', debuting with model number DS-001. In its early years, Beast Kingdom focused strictly on animated feature films from Disney and Pixar, including Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Snow White, and Lilo & Stitch.
By 2019, Beast Kingdom unified the brand globally under the 'D-Stage' name while expanding into comic book and cinematic licenses, notably Marvel Comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and DC Comics. Between 2021 and 2023, the lineup expanded into global pop culture, adding Warner Bros.
