Cronologia
Panoramica
The Pop! Art Covers line is a specialized collectible format produced by Funko, originally introduced in 2022. Designed with display integrity in mind, each release pairs a 3.75-inch Funko Pop! vinyl figure—or a sculpted 3D emblem—permanently mounted inside a clear acrylic protective case.
The figure is positioned directly in front of iconic artwork, classic media title cards, street art stencil backdrops, or fine art designs. Positioned under Funko's broader Pop! Covers umbrella, which also encompasses Pop! Comic Covers, Pop! Album Covers, Pop! VHS Covers, Pop! Game Covers, and Pop!
Movie Posters, the Pop! Art Covers sub-line focuses specifically on fine art backdrops, street art masterpieces, animation prints, and historical or heraldic crests. The pre-cased format allows collectors to showcase dust-free, high-impact display art without needing to remove the figure from its protective housing.
Storia
Funko launched the Pop! Art Covers sub-line in 2022 to expand its pre-encased display category alongside companion lines like Pop! Comic Covers and Pop! Album Covers.
The initial wave focused on street art collaborations under the Brandalised banner, translating famous graffiti stencils by artist Banksy—such as Flying Balloon Girl and Tagging Robot—into 3D figures paired with backdrop prints. In 2023, Funko broadened the line's scope to include high-profile entertainment franchises.
That year saw the introduction of Wizarding World releases, including four Funko Shop Exclusive 3D house crest sculpts for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, alongside the Sirius Black Azkaban wanted poster figure. Disney's 100th Anniversary was also celebrated within the line via an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Art Cover inspired by the 1928 silent short Rival Romeos. Funko has since expanded the format into modern anime properties, including special edition releases for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.

Collezionismo
Pop! Art Covers offer strong appeal to collectors who prioritize display-ready presentation and long-term protection. Because figures are factory-sealed in rigid acrylic cases measuring 8.75" x 7" x 3.25", collectors receive pristine dust-free items without needing to purchase additional display cases separately.
Several early releases—including the Brandalised Banksy street art covers and the Disney 100th Oswald the Lucky Rabbit figure—have officially entered Funko's 'From the Vault' status. This official retirement limits new supply and creates upward value trends on the secondary market. Store exclusives, such as the four Harry Potter House Crest 3D sculpts (#02 through #05) available exclusively through the Funko Shop, serve as key targets for franchise completionists. Long-term value retention is further bolstered by archival options like third-party 0.60mm UV-resistant hard protectors designed specifically for this case size.

Specialized third-party manufacturers like Display Geek produce custom 0.60mm UV-resistant hard cases designed specifically for Art Cover dimensions.
