Cronologia
Panoramica
LEGO DOTS was a craft-centric product line introduced by The LEGO Group in 2020.
Departing from traditional minifigure-scale sets and complex structural builds, DOTS focused on 2D pattern design, wearable accessories like flexible bracelets, stitch-on and adhesive patches, and practical room decor such as pencil holders, picture frames, and jewelry stands.
Over its active production lifespan from 2020 through 2023, the theme produced dozens of sets, expanding to include high-profile collaborations with major brands like Adidas as well as licensed intellectual properties including Disney and Harry Potter.
Origini
The LEGO Group officially unveiled LEGO DOTS in January 2020.
To launch the new theme, LEGO teamed up with French artist Camille Walala to create the 'HOUSE OF DOTS,' an interactive art installation in London's Coal Drops Yard that featured fully decorated rooms built from millions of DOTS tiles and an 8-foot slide.
The line officially hit store shelves in March 2020, launching with customizable bracelets, blind-bag tile expansions (Extra DOTS Series 1 and 2), and decor items like the Rainbow Jewellery Stand, which went on to win a DreamToys award in the Crafty Kids category.

Collezionismo
Produced exclusively by The LEGO Group, LEGO DOTS holds a unique niche among LEGO collectors. Rather than minifigures, DOTS collecting revolves around unique printed tiles, rare color variants, and special accessory elements.
Highly sought-after releases include the bulk tile packs—such as 41935 Lots of DOTS, which introduced over 1,000 tiles across 44 distinct types—and blind-bag 'Extra DOTS' series (Series 1 through 8). Licensed sets featuring Disney icons (Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse) and Harry Potter builds like the 41809 Hedwig Pencil Holder are key targets for crossover collectors. Following the official discontinuation of the brand in December 2023, secondary marketplaces like BrickEconomy actively track loose tile elements, sealed blind bags, and retired decor sets.

In mid-2022, LEGO DOTS expanded into mobile gaming with a limited-time crossover event in EA's The Sims FreePlay.
