RENÉ BELLOQ

Dr. René Emile Belloq is a French mercenary archaeologist and the primary antagonist of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), portrayed by actor Paul Freeman. Functioning as a dark mirror to Indiana Jones, Belloq routinely profits from black-market antiquities, steals credit for Jones's discoveries, and ultimately collaborates with the Third Reich to recover the Ark of the Covenant.
