LUKE CAGE

Luke Cage, born Carl Lucas, made comic book history in 1972 as Marvel's first African-American superhero to star in his own eponymous series. Subjected to a prison experiment that gave him unbreakable skin and superhuman strength, Cage operated as a street-level 'Hero for Hire' before evolving into a leader of the New Avengers and Mayor of New York City.
