CAPTAIN AMERICA

Captain America, created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, debuted in Captain America Comics #1 in 1940 as Timely Comics' patriotic World War II hero Steve Rogers. Transformed by the Super-Soldier Serum, he wields an indestructible Vibranium-steel shield as Earth's Sentinel of Liberty. Over the decades, Rogers led the Avengers while allies such as Bucky Barnes, John Walker, and Sam Wilson have also proudly carried the shield.
