VEGITO
Vegito is the immensely powerful fused warrior formed by Son Goku (Kakarot) and Vegeta using the sacred Potara Earrings. Combining Goku's fighting creativity and benevolence with Vegeta's tactical genius and pride, Vegito stands as one of the most iconic and dominant fighters in the Dragon Ball franchise.
Cronologia
Biografia
Vegito is a unique merged entity created when Son Goku and Vegeta put on matching Potara Earrings. He embodies a perfect mixture of both Saiyans' physical traits and personalities, possessing Goku's body type and softer jawline combined with Vegeta's sharp eyes, upward-standing hair, and cocky attitude.
He wears an inverted version of Goku's Turtle School gi with blue outer clothing, an orange undershirt, and Vegeta's signature white gloves and boots. Throughout the story, Vegito serves as the ultimate trump card against seemingly invincible foes. In Dragon Ball Z, he debuts during the Majin Buu Saga to easily overwhelm Super Buu (who had absorbed Gohan, Gotenks, and Piccolo).
In Dragon Ball Super, he makes a powerful return during the "Future" Trunks Saga in his Super Saiyan Blue form to battle the rogue deity Fused Zamasu. Despite his arrogant demeanor and tendency to taunt opponents, Vegito retains Goku's benevolence and strategic intelligence. He views his fusees as distinct individuals while retaining full access to both Goku and Vegeta's memories, allowing him to execute complex combat strategies under extreme pressure.
Storia
The creation of Vegito stems from both in-universe necessity and real-world production circumstances. Series creator Akira Toriyama originally intended for Goku and Vegeta to merge using the Fusion Dance in the manga.
However, because Toei Animation was simultaneously producing the movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn featuring Gogeta, Toriyama invented the Potara Earrings to give his manga fusion a distinct identity and mechanism.
In the narrative, Goku and Vegeta are forced to fuse out of sheer desperation during the Fusion Saga. Super Buu had absorbed Gohan, Gotenks, and Piccolo, becoming overwhelmingly strong. Left with no other viable partners on Earth, Goku teleports to Vegeta's location via Instant Transmission after Vegeta returns from the Other World. After brief persuasion, Vegeta reluctantly puts on the Potara earring, merging the two rival Saiyans into Vegito for the first time.

Evoluzione
Vegito's role in Dragon Ball evolved from a one-time ultimate trump card into one of the franchise's most enduring flagship characters. When introduced in Dragon Ball Z, Potara fusion was described as a permanent merging of two individuals. Vegito's initial portrayal as Super Vegito highlighted absolute invincibility, treating the immensely powerful Super Buu like a child while casually outmatching him in every aspect. In Dragon Ball Super, Vegito's lore expanded significantly.
Gowasu revealed that Potara fusion is only permanent when it involves a Supreme Kai; for mortals, it lasts one hour and can split early if excessive energy is consumed. When Vegito returned as Super Saiyan Blue against Fused Zamasu, his battle style became far more aggressive and high-intensity, reflecting the immense energy drain of god ki that ultimately split Goku and Vegeta apart ahead of schedule. Outside main canon, Vegito's character evolution exploded across games and promotional media. Titles like Super Dragon Ball Heroes expanded his transformations to include Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken, and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution, solidifying his reputation as the pinnacle fusion warrior across all Dragon Ball media.
