VECNA

Cronologia
Biografia
Vecna is the dark architect of the Upside Down's incursions into the human world. Born Henry Creel in the 1950s, he realized early on that he possessed extraordinary telekinetic and telepathic powers, which he used to terrorize his family and eventually murder his mother and sister. After being taken into the custody of Dr.
Martin Brenner as the first subject (001) of the Hawkins Lab experiments, his powers were suppressed until he manipulated a young Eleven into freeing him, leading to a massacre at the lab. Following a brutal confrontation with Eleven in 1979, Henry was banished into a hellish dimension where he physically mutated into the creature known as Vecna.
From this realm, he orchestrated the rise of the Mind Flayer and the various monsters that attacked Hawkins. In his final evolution during the events of 2025 and 2026, Vecna returned to the physical world in a more powerful form—a mass of sentient vines—utilizing psychological manipulation and the 'Mr. Whatsit' disguise to break his victims before his ultimate defeat in 2026.
Storia
The origins of Henry Creel date back to 1959 when his family moved to Hawkins. As explored in the prequel 'The First Shadow,' Henry discovered Dimension X and established a connection to the Mind Flayer early in his life.
He viewed humanity as a pestilence and sought to bring 'order' to a broken world. After framing his father, Victor, for the murder of his family, Henry became the cornerstone of Dr. Brenner's program.
His skin was tattooed with '001,' and his DNA served as the template for the other gifted children, including Eleven. His banishment to the Upside Down was not an end, but a transformation, as the lightning and atmosphere of that realm stripped away his humanity, leaving only a vengeful, skinless entity bound by vines.

Evoluzione
Vecna's evolution is one of the most complex in modern media. He began as a human child (Henry Creel), shifted into a test subject (001), and finally a mutated commander (Vecna).
Between 1986 and 2025, his physical form changed significantly; after being burned and shot, he retreated into the Hive Mind, re-emerging in Season 5 as a 'mass of vines' (Vecna 2.0).
This version was less human and more elemental, capable of adopting the persona of 'Mr. Whatsit' to hide his presence. His character journey concluded with a total multiversal threat in the D&D 'Eve of Ruin' (2024) and a definitive physical death in the Stranger Things finale (2026).
