TWO-FACE
Harvey Dent, once Gotham City’s crusading District Attorney, became the tragic villain Two-Face after a courtroom attack left him horribly disfigured. Driven by a fractured psyche and a double-headed coin, he embodies the chaotic duality of justice and chance.
Cronologia
Biografia
Harvey Dent was once the shining beacon of hope for Gotham City, often referred to as its 'White Knight.' As a brilliant and relentless District Attorney, he formed a powerful triumvirate with Batman and Commissioner James Gordon to dismantle the city's organized crime families.
However, his life took a dark turn during the trial of mob boss Sal Maroni, who threw sulfuric acid at Dent, scarring the left side of his face and awakening a repressed, darker personality. Now known as Two-Face, Dent has become one of Batman’s most formidable and unpredictable foes.
He is obsessed with the concept of duality and personal chance, making every significant decision—from petty theft to cold-blooded murder—by flipping his signature scarred double-headed coin. While he occasionally shows flashes of his former noble self, the Two-Face persona typically remains in control, viewing the world through a lens of binary opposites: good and evil, life and death.
Storia
Two-Face’s origins have been explored through various lenses over the decades. In his original 1942 debut, his transformation was purely the result of the physical trauma caused by Sal Maroni’s acid attack.
However, modern interpretations, most notably the 'Eye of the Beholder' and 'The Long Halloween' arcs, added psychological depth by revealing a history of childhood abuse at the hands of his father.
These early traumas planted the seeds of Dissociative Identity Disorder, which finally manifested as the Two-Face persona after his disfigurement. This tragic fall from grace is considered one of the most poignant narratives in the Batman mythos, representing the loss of Gotham's soul.

Evoluzione
Two-Face has evolved from a 'villain of the month' in the 1940s to one of the most complex psychological profiles in literature. In the Golden Age, he was Harvey Apollo Kent, a more traditional criminal.
The Bronze Age revival by Denny O'Neil added the layer of schizophrenia and obsession with the number two. The Modern Age (Post-Crisis) fully embraced the tragedy of his fall, making him a symbol of Gotham's failed reform.
Most recently, the 'Absolute' universe has reimagined him as a physically imposing, more monstrous force, while the 'Caped Crusader' animated series experimented with a version of the character that finds redemption through self-sacrifice rather than a full villainous career.
Da Collezione
For collectors, Two-Face offers some of the most visually striking figures in the DC lineup due to his asymmetrical design. The 'Lego Batman' sets remain a staple for completionists, particularly those featuring his custom colored cars and planes.
High-end grails often focus on the 'Arkham City' and 'The Dark Knight' (Nolanverse) versions, which are prized for their realistic texture work on the scarred side of his face.
With Sebastian Stan recently cast for the 2027 film 'The Batman: Part II', interest in modern, grounded Harvey Dent figures is expected to surge. Recent comic-accurate figures from the 'Absolute Batman' line are also becoming highly sought after by those looking for the latest monstrous iteration of the character.

Sebastian Stan is working with makeup teams on a 'truly unsettling' look for his portrayal in the upcoming 'The Batman: Part II'.
