Biografia

Two-Bad is a double-headed evil strategist and warrior who serves among Skeletor's forces in the Masters of the Universe franchise.

Characterized by his split physique—a blue-skinned left side and a purple-scaled right side—his two heads are in a state of constant argument and bickering.

This severe lack of internal coordination creates a bumbling indecisiveness that frequently ruins Skeletor's villainous plans. Despite his constant infighting, Skeletor frequently employs Two-Bad for critical missions. He has assisted in major plots, such as attempting to kidnap Zagraz the comet keeper and hijacking Man-At-Arms' Sky Spy invention aboard the Collector ship. Skeletor explicitly noted that he trusts Two-Bad precisely because the creature hates and fears him, making Two-Bad a recurring threat to He-Man and the Heroic Warriors.

LO SAPEVI?Two-Bad was one of the few non-symmetrical character designs in the Filmation series, leading to an animation error in 'Visitors From Earth' where his blue and purple sides were accidentally reversed.

Storia

Designed for Mattel by Larry Renger and Roger Sweet, Two-Bad was first patented on December 24, 1984. In early lore, he was originally presented as a two-headed illusionist or strategist working for Skeletor.

His backstory was later significantly expanded in the 2002 animated series by Mike Young Productions.

In this continuity, Two-Bad was originally two distinct rival bounty hunters: Tuvar, a blue-skinned tactical strategist, and Baddrah, a purple-scaled brute-force warrior. After Skeletor hired both to defeat He-Man, their relentless rivalry and constant fighting caused their mission to fail. As punishment, Skeletor magically fused the two bounty hunters into a single body with two arguing heads, creating Two-Bad.

LO SAPEVI?A patent for Two-Bad's character design was filed on Christmas Eve (December 24), 1984.

Evoluzione

Two-Bad was created in 1984 by Larry Renger and Roger Sweet, debuting in 1985 as a comic-relief villain in the Filmation animated series. In his original incarnation, he was portrayed as an asymmetrical henchman whose internal bickering derailed Skeletor's plans. Significantly, Two-Bad was one of the few Filmation characters not designed symmetrically alongside Trap Jaw, meaning animators could not flip animation cels to save time.

The character's backstory evolved in the 2002 Mike Young Productions reboot and MVCreations comics. Rather than being born a two-headed monster, he was re-imagined as two rival bounty hunters—Tuvar and Baddrah—magically fused into one body by Skeletor. This gave Two-Bad new narrative depth as he actively sought the 'Spell of Separation'. In modern animated series like Netflix's Revelation and Revolution, Two-Bad remains a constant presence in Skeletor's inner circle.

LO SAPEVI?Skeletor explicitly admitted he trusted Two-Bad because Two-Bad hated and feared him.

Da Collezione

Two-Bad is a highly sought-after character among action figure collectors. He made his toy debut in 1985 in Wave 4 of Mattel's vintage Masters of the Universe line, featuring a unique spring-loaded shoulder action mechanism that allowed his arms to punch outward or strike his own opposite head. In 2014, Mattel updated the character in the 6-inch Masters of the Universe Classics line.

Collecting interest expanded significantly in modern lines: Mattel released a 7-inch scale figure in the Masterverse: New Eternia series (2022–2023), followed by the July 2024 SDCC exclusive 'The Merger of Tuvar & Baddrah Multipack', which gave collectors the option to display Tuvar and Baddrah as separate figures or merge their torsos into Two-Bad. In September 2026, Mattel Creations released the 5.5-inch MOTU Origins Two-Bad figure for Club Grayskull members, featuring retro 1985 styling, spring-loaded punching action, a yellow shield, and a mini-comic.

LO SAPEVI?The 2024 SDCC exclusive multipack allowed fans for the first time to physically separate Two-Bad into individual Tuvar and Baddrah figures.
