TRANSLUCENT
Translucent (real name Mr. Schecht) is an original superhero created for Amazon Prime Video's adaptation of The Boys, serving as a thematic counterpart to the comics' Jack from Jupiter. As a high-ranking member of Vought International's elite team The Seven, his diamond-hard carbon metamaterial skin grants him bulletproof durability and invisibility, concealing a corrupt and predatory personality behind his movie-star image.
Cronologia
Biografia
Translucent, portrayed by actor Alex Hassell, is introduced as a central member of Vought International's flagship superhero team, The Seven. Publicly celebrated as an invincible hero and Vought Studios film star, he privately abuses his powers to spy on women in restrooms and locker rooms.
His illicit behavior brings him into direct conflict with Starlight and eventually leads him to uncover Hughie Campbell planting an audio bug inside Seven Tower. After confronting Hughie at an electronics shop, Translucent is ambushed and knocked unconscious by Billy Butcher. The Boys imprison him in an electrified cage inside Mother's Milk's basement storage room.
When conventional weapons like carbon-alloy bullets fail to harm his skin, Frenchie discovers that Translucent's internal organs remain soft and vulnerable. Frenchie electrocutes him and inserts a C4 explosive into his rectum, creating a lethal dilemma for the captured hero. Despite attempting to manipulate Hughie into letting him escape, Translucent's bargaining fails. As he tries to walk out, Hughie triggers the detonator, blowing Translucent apart. He becomes the first member of The Seven killed by The Boys and Hughie's first human kill, triggering a major Vought cover-up that claims he was murdered by a super-terrorist named El Diablo.
Storia
Born in 1980 to a Jewish family, Mr. Schecht was injected with Compound V by his parents under Vought International's supervision while still an infant.
His abilities manifested almost immediately, converting his skin into a light-bending carbon metamaterial that rendered him invisible. His family kept photos of their invisible infant as a keepsake, and in 1993, he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah completely invisible.
During his teenage years, Schecht joined the superhero group Teenage Kix under the alias Translucent. Upon reaching adulthood, he was promoted to The Seven. Outside of his superhero duties, he married and had a son named Maverick (also referred to in early Vought records as Samuel). He expanded his brand into Vought Studios blockbusters, starring as the lead protagonist in *Invisible Force* and *Invisible Force 2*.

Evoluzione
Translucent begins his arc as an ultra-arrogant corporate hero who considers himself indestructible due to his carbon skin. Protected by Vought's PR machine, he openly abuses his invisibility to stalk women, displaying complete indifference to personal boundaries or morality. When captured by Butcher and Hughie, he initially maintains his cocky demeanor, mocking his captors and boasting that Homelander will easily rescue him. His psychological state undergoes a drastic shift once Frenchie discovers his internal vulnerability and installs an explosive inside him.
Stripped of his invulnerability, Translucent's arrogance dissolves into cowardice. He willingly offers up Vought secrets, exposes A-Train's Compound V supply chain to Popclaw, and desperately begs Hughie for his life. Following his death, Translucent's legacy is repurposed by Vought as propaganda. His demise is attributed to a fictional super-terrorist named El Diablo, turning his death into a rallying cry for Supe military inclusion. In-universe, his memory is commercialized through memorial music videos and a famously 'invisible' statue base at Godolkin University.
Da Collezione
Because Translucent's storyline ends early in Season 1, real-world physical merchandise for the character remains rare compared to core members of The Seven like Homelander or Starlight. His main collectible footprint stems from in-universe Vought media and promotional releases.
Within *The Boys* lore, Translucent is famously represented at Godolkin University by an 'invisible statue'—consisting only of a visible stone base and plaque. For real-world collectors, Translucent is commemorated through official Vought media items, promotional posters for *Invisible Force* and *Invisible Force 2*, and music releases surrounding Starlight's tribute single 'Never Truly Vanish'. No standalone playable video game characters or licensed action figures have been released for Translucent to date.

Godolkin University maintained a commemorative statue for Translucent that was completely invisible, leaving only the plaque and base visible to visitors.
