Cronologia
Biografia

The Three Little Pigs are three anthropomorphic pig brothers—Fifer Pig, Fiddler Pig, and Practical Pig—created by Walt Disney and his animation team. Fifer and Fiddler Pig are frivolous, carefree musical spirits who love to play all day. Fifer Pig plays the flute, while Fiddler Pig plays the fiddle and dances jigs.
Practical Pig, on the other hand, is cautious, earnest, and dedicated to hard work, prioritizing safety and future security over immediate entertainment. In their classic storyline, Fifer and Fiddler lazily construct fragile homes out of straw and sticks to return to playing music as quickly as possible.
Practical Pig works tirelessly to build a sturdy home out of bricks while warning his brothers of the danger posed by the Big Bad Wolf. When the Wolf arrives and easily blows down the straw and stick structures, Fifer and Fiddler flee to Practical's brick house. Practical saves his brothers by standing strong against the Wolf's blowing and trapping him in a boiling pot of water mixed with turpentine under the chimney.
Storia

The characters debuted on May 27, 1933, in the Silly Symphonies animated short film 'Three Little Pigs', directed by Burt Gillett. The short was a unprecedented phenomenon, running in theaters for months after its debut.
The cartoon went on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and is widely considered one of the most successful animated shorts ever made.
Key to the film's success was its pioneering approach to character animation; animator Chuck Jones highlighted that it was the first time an animated film brought visually similar characters to life through distinct individual personalities, postures, and movements. The short also introduced the Frank Churchill song 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?', which became a hit record and a cultural anthem of resilience during the Great Depression.

Evoluzione
The Three Little Pigs originated in 1933 as a milestone in animation history, demonstrating how visually identical character designs could be imbued with distinct personalities through posture, voice, and movement. Fifer and Fiddler embodied carefree optimism, whereas Practical Pig represented foresight and hard work. Over the decades, their roles evolved beyond simple fable archetypes.
During World War II, Practical Pig was repurposed as an emblem of financial prudence in Canadian war bond propaganda. In print comics, the introduction of Li'l Bad Wolf shifted the trio into gentle, recurring friends of the Big Bad Wolf's reformed son. Modern television and film projects, such as 'House of Mouse' and 'Once Upon a Studio', transformed the brothers into legacy Disney icons who appear in ensemble celebrations and theme park attractions worldwide.
