Cronologia
Biografia

Thanos is a fearsome intergalactic warlord and one of the most formidable beings in the Marvel Universe. Originating from the planet Titan, he commands massive armies—including the Black Order, the Chitauri, Outriders, and Sakaaran mercenaries—and rules over vast reaches of space.
Regarded across the galaxy as the 'Mad Titan' or 'Dark Lord', his name strikes fear into major powers like the Kree and Nova Empires, who actively avoid crossing him during his conquests.
Despite his reputation for extreme cruelty and indiscriminate slaughter, Thanos is a complex and deeply tortured individual rather than a senseless monster. He possesses a rigid sense of honor, refusing to break deals or tell lies, and holds genuine respect for enemies who demonstrate selfless bravery, such as Iron Man and Star-Lord. His ultimate ambition is not personal galactic rule, but rather the execution of what he perceives as his sacred destiny: bringing cosmic equilibrium to a universe plagued by overpopulation.
Storia

Thanos was born over a thousand years ago on Titan to A'lars (Mentor) and Sui-San. Unlike his fellow Eternals, Thanos was born with Deviant Syndrome, leaving him with purple skin, a heavily lined chin, and a massive physique that made him an outcast among his people. Despite being shunned, young Thanos deeply cared for Titan and became a scientist to help his homeworld.
When he realized that overpopulation threatened Titan with environmental collapse, he proposed a drastic solution: randomly culling half of the population, even volunteering to be the first eliminated. His proposal was rejected as madness, and Thanos was exiled.
Thanos's warning proved prophetic when internal conflict and resource depletion led to Titan's collapse and the complete extinction of his race. Traumatized by the loss of his homeworld and convinced that the rest of the universe would suffer the same fate, Thanos dedicated his life to traveling the cosmos and wiping out half the population of every world he encountered. In comic continuity, his genocidal quest is further fueled by his intense obsession and devotion to Mistress Death, the cosmic embodiment of death.
I PEZZI DI THANOS
Evoluzione
Thanos has undergone significant evolution since his creation by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich in 1973. Originating in the Bronze Age as a cosmic villain seeking conquest through artifacts like the Cosmic Cube and Soul Gems, his character was primarily defined by his romantic obsession with Mistress Death and his desire to earn her favor through galactic genocide, culminating in 1991's *The Infinity Gauntlet*. Over subsequent decades, Thanos evolved into a far more complex cosmic entity. In the mid-2000s, storylines like *Thanos* Vol.
1 and *Annihilation* explored themes of penance, cosmic necessity, and his role as the Avatar of Death against existential threats like the Cancerverse. Recent comic developments have expanded his lineage and powers, making him Prime Eternal of Titan (*Eternals* Vol. 5) and arming him with the newly forged Death Stone (*Thanos* Vol. 4). In media adaptations, particularly the Marvel Cinematic Universe played by Josh Brolin, Thanos was re-interpreted from a Death-obsessed worshiper into a utilitarian philosopher-warlord. Traumatized by the collapse of Titan, his live-action counterpart seeks universal equilibrium to save species from self-destruction, cementing him as one of the most iconic pop-culture antagonists in modern cinema.
