SPIKOR
Spikor, known as the 'Untouchable Master of Evil Combat,' is a purple, spike-covered humanoid warrior in Mattel's Masters of the Universe franchise. Serving as Skeletor's loyal henchman and chief weaponsmith, Spikor uses his spike-studded body and specialized arm attachments to battle He-Man and the Heroic Warriors.
Cronologia
Biografia
Spikor is a purple, spike-covered warrior who serves as one of Skeletor's main henchmen and the primary armorer of Snake Mountain.
Officially designated as the 'Untouchable Master of Evil Combat,' Spikor not only fights on the frontlines for Skeletor but also utilizes his forge in a mountain cavern to create powerful weapons and armor for the Overlord of Evil, such as the deadly Terror Claws.
Throughout media adaptations, Spikor's personality has varied significantly. In the 1980s Filmation animated series, he was portrayed as a childlike, dim-witted henchman who spoke in a stilted, singing robotic cadence and served primarily as comic relief. Conversely, in comic continuity, modern animated series such as Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and live-action feature films, Spikor is depicted as a formidable and lethal combatant equipped with rapid-fire spike projectiles and heavy weaponry.
Storia
According to Masters of the Universe lore, Spikor was originally an Eternian human blacksmith named Kleffton from the village of Nordling.
Kleffton's life changed dramatically when he attempted to steal a sacred scroll from his village's high priests. As a consequence, he was magically fused to an enchanted suit of spiked armor and a mystic trident.
Banished from Nordling for his crime, Kleffton became an outcast and wandered into the Sands of Time. He was eventually discovered by Skeletor, who recognized his natural forging talents. Skeletor recruited him to forge specialized arms and armor to aid in the war against the Snake Men, bestowing upon him the name Spikor.

Evoluzione
Spikor debuted in 1985 as a fierce combatant in Mattel's minicomics, soon expanded in 'The Terror Claws Strike!' into Skeletor's forge master. However, Filmation adapted the character for television as a comedic, dim-witted henchman with a robot-like singing cadence. Animators often replaced his left trident with a standard hand to allow cel-flipping and cut production costs.
In 2012, Mattel updated Spikor's narrative through the MOTU Classics line, introducing his tragic backstory as Kleffton, an exiled blacksmith magically fused to spiked armor. Modern screen versions have further shifted Spikor back toward a serious combat threat: Netflix's Revelation showcased his lethal projectile spikes, while the 2026 live-action film reimagined him as a blood-purple monster equipped with a spiked flail arm.

In 2012, Mattel catered to adult collectors by issuing a redesigned figure in the Masters of the Universe Classics line, which featured his origin story as Kleffton on the packaging cardback. Recent years have seen a surge in Spikor collectibles across multiple product lines.
Mattel released a 7-inch figure in the 2021 Masterverse Revelation wave, followed by a vintage-style 5.5-inch figure in 2023 MOTU Origins Wave 14. In 2024, the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection released a Filmation-styled Spikor packaged with cosmic game pieces from the episode 'The Games'. Key upcoming releases include the 2025 Target-exclusive Sketchbook Series Spikor and the April 2026 MOTU Origins Movie Edition figure featuring his screen-accurate spiked flail.
Curiosità
* In the Filmation cartoon, Spikor's trident hand was regularly drawn as a normal hand so animators could flip animation cels to save money. * According to the 1986 minicomic 'The Terror Claws Strike!', Spikor is the blacksmith who forged Skeletor's Terror Claws weapon.
* During a battle in Snake Mountain in the 2026 feature film, He-Man throws Spikor into a wall, causing Spikor to accidentally impale a Skel-Knight on his back spikes. * The 2024 MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection action figure includes alien game piece accessories taken directly from the 1985 Filmation episode 'The Games'.
