Cronologia
Biografia
Sky Cloth Sho is an anime-original protagonist created by Toei Animation for the 1986 Saint Seiya animated series. Serving as the primary combatant and leader of the Steel Saints (Steel Knights), Sho pilots the mechanical Sky Cloth—a cybernetic suit secretly commissioned by Mitsumasa Kido and the Graad Foundation and engineered by Dr.
Asamori to support Athena's Bronze Saints. Throughout the Sanctuary era, Sho is the Steel Saint most actively involved in combat and rescue missions.
He makes key interventions during high-stakes battles, assisting Cygnus Hyoga against Centaurus Babel at the Colosseum, protecting Dragon Shiryu during his clash with Perseus Algol, defending against Spartan, and coming to Pegasus Seiya's aid against Tarantula Arachne in Jamir. Decades later in Saint Seiya Omega, an older Sho returns alongside squadmates Ushio and Daichi as legendary veteran Saints. Voice-acted by Shigeru Nakahara, he acts as a mentor to the new generation of Steel Saints, including Subaru, during the war against Goddess Pallas and her Pallasites.
Storia
Sho's origins stem from a covert initiative launched by Mitsumasa Kido, founder of the Graad Foundation.
Kido commissioned Professor Asamori to develop cybernetic armors capable of rivaling divine Cloths, creating artificial protection for Athena without relying on traditional Cosmo training or divine constellations.
Developed in complete secrecy, Sho was selected to pilot the Sky Cloth, modeled after the Toucan (a red bird with a long beak). Entering battle under the self-proclaimed title 'Sho, the Frame Celeste', he was deployed alongside Marine Cloth Ushio and Land Cloth Daichi to covertly safeguard Athena's warriors from Sanctuary's forces.
I PEZZI DI SHO
Evoluzione
Sho was introduced in 1986 as Toei Animation's original addition to the Saint Seiya anime, bringing a futuristic sci-fi element to a mythologically driven story. As the most active warrior among the Steel Saints during the Silver Saint arc, his character established a bridge between Graad Foundation technology and Athena's divine order.
Over the decades, Sho evolved from a mysterious anime-exclusive ally into a legacy figure. In Saint Seiya Omega, he returned as a seasoned veteran guiding a new era of Steel Saints. Furthermore, the name 'Shō' expanded in franchise lore through Equuleus Shōko in Saintia Shō, maintaining the character's legacy across Saint Seiya media.
Da Collezione
For Saint Seiya figure collectors, Sky Cloth Sho holds a distinct position as one of the few technological, anime-exclusive characters rendered in premium diecast lines. Bandai Tamashii Nations officially brought Sho to collectors in May 2011 within the flagship Saint Cloth Myth line, accurately recreating his mechanical Toucan armor and forearm turbines.
Due to limited production runs and strong demand from completionist collectors, the 2011 original release became a sought-after grail item on the secondary market. Addressing this demand, Bandai Spirits released the Saint Cloth Myth - Sky Cloth Sho <Revival Version> in July 2021. Featuring redesigned face sculpts, improved articulation, and an updated metallic finish, the Revival version is a staple piece for displaying the Graad Foundation's Steel Saints.

An animation glitch unique to Sho causes his shirt sleeves to disappear whenever he dons his Sky Cloth armor.
