SHE-RA
Princess Adora, the twin sister of Prince Adam (He-Man), transforms into She-Ra, 'The Most Powerful Woman in the Universe,' using the magical Sword of Protection. Originally kidnapped as an infant and raised under mind control as a Horde Force Captain on Etheria, she broke free from Hordak's grip to lead the Great Rebellion. Created by Mattel and Filmation, She-Ra remains one of pop culture's most enduring superheroines across animation, comic books, video games, and live-action media.
Cronologia
Biografia
She-Ra is the alter ego of Princess Adora, the long-lost twin sister of Prince Adam (He-Man) and daughter of Eternia's King Randor and Queen Marlena.
Known across the cosmos as 'The Most Powerful Woman in the Universe,' she is a strong-willed, strategic, and warm-hearted heroine who leads the Great Rebellion on the planet Etheria to liberate its citizens from the tyrannical Evil Horde.
By holding high the Sword of Protection and invoking the power of Grayskull, Adora transforms into She-Ra. Only a tiny, trusted circle of allies knows her true identity, including Prince Adam/He-Man, Cringer/Battle Cat, The Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, Orko, Spirit/Swift Wind, Light Hope, Madame Razz, Kowl, and Loo-Kee. Unlike her brother He-Man, She-Ra's background as a former Horde Force Captain makes her a keen military strategist. Combined with her sharp sense of humor, profound compassion, animal telepathy, and healing powers, she leads her rebel allies with both tactical brilliance and deep empathy.
Storia
Born on the planet Eternia as Princess Adora, she was stolen from her royal crib as an infant by Hordak, the supreme commander of the Evil Horde on Etheria.
Spirited away through a magical dimensional portal, Adora was raised in the Fright Zone under Horde mind control, completely unaware of her royal lineage or her twin brother, Prince Adam.
Adora rose through the ranks to become a Force Captain for the Horde. Her life changed forever when Prince Adam arrived on Etheria and delivered the Sword of Protection—a magical counterpart to the Sword of Power. Upon discovering her true heritage and witnessing the Horde's cruelty, Adora broke free from their control, transformed into She-Ra, and dedicated herself to leading the Great Rebellion to free Etheria.
I PEZZI DI SHE-RA
Evoluzione
She-Ra was conceptualized by writers Larry DiTillio and J. Michael Straczynski alongside designer Diane Keener, with her official animation model approved by Filmation producer Lou Scheimer on September 19, 1984. Introduced in 1985 as part of Mattel's push to expand the Masters of the Universe brand to female audiences, she quickly became an iconic hero in her own right through her toy line and 93-episode animated series. Over the decades, She-Ra's lore evolved significantly through print and screen media.
DC Comics deepened her background by introducing 'Despara,' her brainwashed, ruthless persona as Hordak's deadly force commander prior to remembering her true identity. This darker origin arc was later adapted into the animated series *Masters of the Universe: Revolution* (2024). In 2018, DreamWorks Animation and Netflix released *She-Ra and the Princesses of Power*, developed by ND Stevenson. This reimagining updated her design, reframed the world's magic around the First Ones technology, and focused heavily on character growth, friendship, and redemption. By 2026, She-Ra transitioned into live-action with Lauren Saliu's appearance in the *Masters of the Universe* feature film stinger, setting the foundation for future live-action projects.
Da Collezione
She-Ra made her toy store debut in 1984–1985 with Mattel's dedicated *Princess of Power* line, which merged classic fashion-doll styling with action figure combat features. Each figure came packaged with original mini-comics, starting with *The Story of She-Ra*.
For modern Masters of the Universe collectors, She-Ra figures represent some of the most sought-after releases in the franchise. A legendary grail item is the updated 2004 She-Ra action figure, which was released as a convention exclusive for SDCC and Wizard World Chicago. High-end collectors also heavily target releases from the *Masters of the Universe Classics* and *MOTU Origins* lines, particularly figure packs featuring her winged mount Swift Wind.

An updated She-Ra figure produced for the 2004 MOTU toyline revamp was available exclusively at Comic-Con and Wizard World Chicago.
