Cronologia
Biografia
Scooby-Doo is an anthropomorphic Great Dane who serves as the titular mascot and heart of Mystery Incorporated.
Together with his cowardly best friend Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, as well as Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, and Velma Dinkley, Scooby travels across various locations in their iconic van, the Mystery Machine.
His primary role in the team, despite his skittish demeanor, is helping unmask fraudulent monsters and villains who disguise themselves to spook locals. Though easily frightened by seemingly paranormal phenomena, Scooby frequently finds himself inadvertently uncovering key clues or stumbling into villain traps. His motivation is often aided by his enormous appetite, especially when bribed with Scooby Snacks by his friends.
Storia
Created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions, Scooby-Doo made his debut in the 1969 animated series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!.
Within the franchise's lore, Scooby's early life varies depending on the continuity; the prequel series A Pup Named Scooby-Doo depicts him growing up as a puppy alongside his childhood friends in Coolsville.
In comic publications, such as DC Comics' runs, Scooby's backstory spans multiple multiversal realities. Across eight distinct comic continuities, he and the gang are depicted as originating from Coolsville, Big City, Clevertown, or Cork City, sometimes sharing a house with Shaggy or operating out of a shared clubhouse.

Evoluzione

In 1998, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island introduced darker themes with real supernatural threats, leading to live-action theatrical features written by James Gunn in the early 2000s. Animated incarnations continued to experiment with tone, from the dark narrative arcs of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (2010) to the post-apocalyptic comic series Scooby Apocalypse (2016). Additionally, DC Comics developed an expansive multiversal lore featuring at least eight distinct continuity timelines for the character.
