Biografia

Sarco Plank is a ruthless Melitto scavenger, guide, and mercenary who operated across the galaxy from the early Galactic Empire through the Sequel Era. Born around 25 BBY on Li-Toran, Plank was a 'ronin'—a Melitto who had lost his Myrmitrix and lived without a hive.

Operating out of Devaron, he earned a sinister reputation as 'The Scavenger,' routinely guiding wealthy tourists into the deep jungle and murdering them to loot their belongings. Plank's most significant encounter occurred in 0 ABY, shortly after the Battle of Yavin, when he guided Luke Skywalker to the ruined Jedi Temple of Eedit on Devaron.

Although Plank assisted Luke in staving off an Imperial patrol, his true goal was to loot the ancient site. Once inside, he betrayed the young Jedi and engaged him in an electrostaff duel. Luke wounded Plank across the torso with his lightsaber, causing him to fall into a deep pit. Though Plank survived, the duel left him with a severe chest scar and a lasting respect for Jedi combatants. Decades later (~34 ABY), Plank resurfaced on the desert world of Jakku in Niima Outpost. Operating as an arms dealer and fence, he modified salvaged military blasters with Trandoshan technology, regularly clashing with scavengers like Rey and local junk boss Unkar Plutt.

LO SAPEVI?Sarco Plank was featured in Annie Leibovitz's famous *Vanity Fair* photoshoot in May 2015 prior to the theatrical release of *The Force Awakens*.

Storia

Originating from the planet Li-Toran, Sarco Plank spent much of his early life in the settlement of Tikaroo on Devaron. As a Melitto ronin banished from hive life, Plank was an outcast among his own species and widely disliked by the local Devaronians.

He came to view Devaron's untamed jungles as his true home, returning to civilized settlements only when necessary to trade or accept contracts. Unlike rival local guides who rented equipment from Porst's depot, Plank was completely self-sufficient, owning his gear and happabore mounts.

Over the years, he developed a lethal scheme: leading wealthy, eccentric clients to remote mossy depressions and killing them, later claiming they met with tragic accidents. For years, Plank coveted the treasures inside Devaron's Temple of Eedit, an ancient Jedi shrine destroyed during the Clone Wars by Savage Opress. Imperial sensors prohibited entry, but Luke Skywalker's arrival in 0 ABY provided Plank with the opportunity he needed to bypass Imperial security and attempt to claim the temple's contents.

LO SAPEVI?He is a Melitto, an eyeless insectoid species that senses surroundings using fine bodily cilia responsive to vibrations, sound, and scent.

Evoluzione

Sarco Plank's narrative evolution spans from an isolated jungle predator on Devaron to a black-market arms dealer on Jakku. In his early appearances around 0 ABY, Plank operated as a solitary 'ronin' scavenger, relying on deceit and murder to rob wealthy hunters. His ambition reached its peak at the Temple of Eedit, where he used Luke Skywalker to breach Imperial security, leading to a duel that ended with a severe lightsaber wound to his torso.

By 34 ABY, Plank had adapted to the post-Imperial economy of Jakku following the Battle of Jakku. Exchanging his battered gray metal plate armor for layered, sand-worn red robes and a specialized nutrient system, he transitioned into a cold, pragmatic illegal weapon fence in Niima Outpost. Rather than hunting isolated targets in the jungle, Plank adapted to the competitive desert landscape, modifying heavy military surplus and competing directly against scavengers like Rey.

LO SAPEVI?His electrostaff is one of the few melee weapons capable of blocking a lightsaber blade.

Da Collezione

Despite his minimal screen time in *The Force Awakens*, Sarco Plank gained iconic status among Star Wars action figure collectors due to pre-release promotion. In May 2015, Plank was prominently featured in Annie Leibovitz's iconic *Vanity Fair* photoshoot on the Jakku set, creating significant fan curiosity ahead of the movie's premiere.

Hasbro officially debuted Sarco Plank in figure form during the original 'Force Friday' merchandise event in September 2015. Released in the 3.75-inch *The Force Awakens* Desert/Snow Gear line, the figure detailed his layered red robes, life-support chest rig, removable atmospheric helmet, and signature electrostaff. While no 6-inch Black Series variant was produced, his distinct alien character design has made the 3.75-inch Hasbro release a prized addition for collectors constructing Niima Outpost diorama displays.

LO SAPEVI?On Jakku, he augmented black-market blasters using Trandoshan triplers and doublers to increase weapon yield for local scavengers.
