Cronologia
Biografia
Roronoa Zoro is the premier combatant and unofficial first mate of the Straw Hat Pirates, originally introduced as a feared bounty hunter known as the 'Pirate Hunter.' He was the very first member to join Monkey D. Luffy's crew after Luffy rescued him from execution at the hands of Marine Captain Morgan in Shells Town.
Dedicated to an absolute pledge, Zoro pursues his ultimate dream of becoming the World's Greatest Swordsman, driven by a childhood promise and his unyielding determination. Throughout his journey across the seas, Zoro serves as the crew's ultimate pillar of strength and discipline.
Despite his catastrophic lack of spatial direction that frequently leads him astray, his unwavering loyalty to Luffy is unmatched, demonstrated when he voluntarily absorbed all of Luffy's pain and fatigue from Bartholomew Kuma at Thriller Bark. Across major conflicts—from cutting steel against Mr. 1 in Alabasta to unleashing Conqueror's Haki in Wano Country—Zoro repeatedly proves himself as one of the most formidable fighters of the Worst Generation.
Storia
Roronoa Zoro was raised at the Ishin Dojo in Shimotsuki Village, where he trained incessantly in sword fighting from a young age. Despite his intense discipline and dual-wielding wooden sword techniques, he suffered 2,001 consecutive defeats against Kuina, the daughter of the dojo master.
The two rivals forged a solemn vow that one of them would eventually become the world's greatest swordsman. Tragically, Kuina died in an accident the following day. Devastated by her loss, Zoro requested her heirloom katana, the Wadō Ichimonji, swearing to make his name known across the heavens to fulfill their shared goal.
Unbeknownst to him in his youth, Zoro is a direct descendant of the legendary Shimotsuki clan originating from Wano Country, with his lineage tied directly to the master swordsman Shimotsuki Ryuma. Prior to joining the Straw Hat Pirates, Zoro departed Shimotsuki Village and traveled the seas as a bounty hunter to support himself, earning global notoriety as the 'Pirate Hunter' before his fateful encounter with Luffy at Shells Town.

Evoluzione
Zoro's physical and technical evolution across One Piece reflects his relentless pursuit of supreme swordsmanship. In the East Blue, he relied primarily on raw physical strength and his signature Three-Sword Style, suffering a humbling defeat against Dracule Mihawk that fundamentally forged his resolve never to lose again. His first major breakthrough occurred in Alabasta during his battle against Mr. 1, where he learned to sense the rhythm of all things and cut through solid steel.
Following his brutal trial at Thriller Bark and separation at Sabaody, Zoro underwent a crucial two-year timeskip under Mihawk's tutelage on Kuraigana Island. He returned significantly more muscular, bearing a scarred left eye and complete command over basic Armament and Observation Haki. In Wano Country, Zoro acquired the Haki-draining katana Enma and unlocked Conqueror's Haki Infusion during his fight against King. By the Elbaf Arc (Chapter 1194), Zoro reached a new peak of mastery, fully regulating Conqueror's Haki output without reliance on Enma's erratic drainage.
