Cronologia
Biografia
Roboto is the Heroic Mechanical Warrior who fights alongside He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to protect Eternia from forces of evil like Skeletor and Hordak. Serving as the heroic forces' chief combat strategist and battlefield analyst, Roboto combines high-level mechanical logic with human-like bravery.
His signature visual trait is a transparent torso that exposes his internal gear mechanisms, alongside a specialized right arm capable of swapping between different weapon attachments. Far from a cold, unfeeling machine, Roboto possesses empathy, courage, and true loyalty toward his comrades.
Built into his chest is a cybernetically-enhanced heart that allows him to experience human emotion and interact naturally with organic heroes. Whether analyzing complex enemy tactics in real time, smashing through fortified doors, or engaging deadly foes in direct combat, Roboto stands as an irreplaceable member of the Heroic Warriors.
Storia
Roboto's backstory varies across different Masters of the Universe continuities. In his original 1985 Mattel mini-comic debut, The Battle of Roboto, he was built on Eternia by royal inventor Man-At-Arms (Duncan).
To make him more than a basic automaton, Man-At-Arms implanted a cybernetically-enhanced heart inside his chest, giving him human emotion, empathy, and courage alongside his tactical programming.
The 1985 Filmation animated series presented an alternate space-faring origin in the episode Happy Birthday Roboto. In this version, Roboto was an alien explorer from the mechanical world of Robotica who crash-landed on Eternia. After being rescued and repaired by Man-At-Arms, he chose to join the Masters of the Universe. In the 2002 animated reboot, he began as a simple chess-playing robot built by Man-At-Arms before upgrading his own systems to become a full-fledged warrior and combat analyst.
I PEZZI DI ROBOTO
Evoluzione
Roboto has evolved significantly across four decades of MOTU media. Introduced in 1985 as a toyline hero with gear-turning waist action and interchangeable arm weapons, his origin initially split between a space explorer from Robotica (Filmation) and an artificial warrior given a human heart by Man-At-Arms (mini-comics). The 2002 Mike Young Productions animated reboot gave him an explicit growth arc: starting as a simple chess-playing robot, he voluntarily upgraded his programming to become the Masters' chief battlefield analyst.
In Netflix's 2021 series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, his cybernetic heart took on a tragic narrative climax when he sacrificed his life at the Forge of Subternia to re-forge the broken Sword of Power and return magic to Eternia. The 2026 live-action feature film reimagined Roboto with a female designation voiced by Kristen Wiig. Initially presented as a captive floor-mopping maid robot, her latent combat programming was unlocked by Man-At-Arms via a hidden chip, leading to a rebuild that restored her classic clear chest and rotating gear aesthetic.
Da Collezione
Roboto is a fan-favorite figure among Masters of the Universe collectors. The original 1985 Mattel Wave 4 vintage figure is highly sought after for its iconic action gimmick: twisting his waist rotated internal torso gears and moved his jaw. The original figure came complete with three interchangeable arm attachments: a laser blaster, a claw, and a battle axe. In 2002, Mattel updated the design with snap-on chest armor over a transparent torso, though this release omitted the classic axe attachment.
Collector-focused releases followed, including the 2010 Masters of the Universe Classics version (designated 'Robot Model 904') and modern figures in both the retro MOTU Origins and high-articulation Masterverse / New Eternia lines, as well as movie tie-in figures featuring dual-sided clear chest gear designs. Beyond traditional action figures, Roboto is represented in tabletop gaming collectibles, including sculpted miniatures for Archon Studio's Fields of Eternia (2022) and CMON's Clash for Eternia (2023), alongside a nanofigure in the Attack of the Collector Brick Shop building set.

The 2002 reboot action figure included only the laser gun and claw attachments, leaving out the battle axe that came with the 1985 original figure.
