RED HULK

Red Hulk (often referred to as 'Rulk') is a powerful anti-hero and former military officer in Marvel Comics. Created by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Ed McGuinness, the character's primary alter-ego is General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, the long-time military nemesis of Bruce Banner.
Seeking the power to finally defeat the Hulk, Ross underwent a covert transformation engineered by the supervillain cabal known as the Intelligencia. Unlike the original Hulk, Red Hulk retains his full military intellect, tactical leadership, and strategic thinking while transformed.
He initially unleashed destructive rampage across the Marvel Universe—killing classic Hulk foes like the Abomination and battling cosmic beings—before undergoing a moral shift. Under the guidance of Steve Rogers, Red Hulk joined the Avengers and later spearheaded his own black-ops strike team, the Thunderbolts. While Thaddeus Ross remains the definitive Red Hulk, other individuals have carried the mantle. General Robert Maverick operated as a high-tech Red Hulk for AIM and the U.S.Avengers using a temporary device, and Bruce Banner's 'Joe Fixit' alter-ego briefly manifested a cosmic red form in the Below-Place.

General Thaddeus Ross first appeared in May 1962 in 'The Incredible Hulk' #1, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
As the head of Gamma Base and father of Betty Ross, General Ross spent decades hunting Bruce Banner, convinced that the Hulk was a dangerous threat to national security.
After decades of unsuccessful military campaigns and personal tragedies, Ross entered into a secret alliance with the Intelligencia, a cabal led by M.O.D.O.K. and Samuel Sterns (The Leader). Utilizing siphoned cosmic and gamma radiation, the cabal transformed Ross into the Red Hulk, who debuted in 'Hulk' (vol. 2) #1 in January 2008. His true identity remained a guarded secret from heroes and readers alike until the 'Fall of the Hulks' and 'World War Hulks' storylines in 2009–2010 revealed Ross as the red titan.
