RAVENCLAW
Ravenclaw refers primarily to Hogwarts co-founder Rowena Ravenclaw and her daughter Helena Ravenclaw, the house ghost known as The Grey Lady. Renowned for valuing intellect, wisdom, and magical skill, their history is tied to the enchanted Ravenclaw's Diadem and Ravenclaw Tower within Hogwarts Castle.
Cronologia
Biografia

Rowena Ravenclaw was a Scottish witch of extraordinary intellect who co-founded Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 10th century alongside Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin.
She established Ravenclaw House to champion students who prized intelligence, wisdom, and wit. Her daughter, Helena Ravenclaw, became an integral part of Hogwarts history after her tragic death, lingering as the resident house ghost known as The Grey Lady.
Throughout the centuries, the Ravenclaw legacy remained tied to Hogwarts through Ravenclaw Tower, the house's sanctuary featuring a bronze eagle knocker that demands logic rather than passwords. Both Rowena's legendary diadem and Helena's spectral knowledge played crucial roles during the Second Wizarding War, when Lord Voldemort sought to corrupt the founder's artifact into a Horcrux.
Storia

In the late 10th century (c. 993 AD), Rowena Ravenclaw created a magical tiara known as Ravenclaw's Diadem, which was enchanted to bestow wisdom upon anyone who wore it.
However, family tragedy struck when her daughter Helena grew envious of Rowena's unmatched intelligence. Helena stole the diadem and fled to Albania, hoping the artifact would make her clever and important.
When Rowena fell fatally ill, she dispatched the Baron—a nobleman in love with Helena—to bring her daughter home. Upon locating Helena in Albania, the Baron flew into a rage when she refused to return, murdering her. Overcome with immediate remorse, the Baron took his own life with the same weapon. Following Rowena's death from a broken heart shortly after, both Helena and the Baron returned to haunt Hogwarts as ghosts.

Evoluzione
Over the centuries, the narrative perception of Ravenclaw shifted from legendary medieval lore to a crucial key in defeating Lord Voldemort. Initially defined in Hogwarts history as a founding lineage focused on wisdom and scholarship, Rowena Ravenclaw's legacy was long overshadowed by the disappearance of her lost diadem.
Helena Ravenclaw's own journey evolved from an act of theft born of jealousy into centuries of solitary remorse as the Grey Lady. After being manipulated by Tom Riddle in the 1940s, she maintained a cautious silence for decades. Her character achieved redemption on May 1, 1998, when she trusted Harry Potter with the location of the corrupted diadem so it could be destroyed during the Battle of Hogwarts.
