Cronologia
Biografia
Oh is an overly enthusiastic, accident-prone member of the alien species known as the Boov and the main protagonist of DreamWorks Animation's Home franchise.
Initially treated as an outcast by his peers due to his eager personality and frequent mistakes, Oh's life changes completely when he accidentally sends a housewarming party invitation into deep space, accidentally alerting the Boov's mortal enemies, the Gorg, to their location on Earth.
Forced to flee from his own kind, Oh crosses paths with Gratuity 'Tip' Tucci, a resourceful human teenager searching for her missing mother. Through their journey together across the globe, Oh learns the values of individuality, empathy, and courage—breaking away from the Boov norm of running away from conflict to actively stand up and save both species from destruction. Following the events of the film, Oh moves in with Tip's family, immersing himself in human culture, urban pop music, and everyday domestic adventures.
Storia
The character of Oh originated in Adam Rex's 2007 children's novel, The True Meaning of Smekday, where his literary counterpart was named J.Lo after singer Jennifer Lopez.
When DreamWorks Animation adapted the novel into a feature film, the character was re-imagined as Oh.
His species' background was formally introduced in the 2014 theatrical short film Almost Home, which detailed Captain Smek leading the Boov across the galaxy in search of a suitable new planet before eventually colonizing Earth.
