Cronologia
Biografia
Newton Artemis Fido 'Newt' Scamander was born on February 24, 1897, in Great Britain. A Hufflepuff alumnus of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Newt dedicated his life to the study and protection of magical creatures, eventually becoming the wizarding world's premier Magizoologist.
His extensive travels across five continents yielded the definitive guide 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', published in 1927. Despite his preference for animals over human interaction, Newt became central to major world events when his 1926 visit to New York led to the exposure and capture of the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.
Recruited by his former teacher Albus Dumbledore, Newt subsequently led global task forces in Paris and Bhutan, helping defeat Grindelwald's political schemes during the Global Wizarding War. In his post-war career at the Ministry of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, Newt created the Werewolf Register in 1947 and established the Ban on Experimental Breeding in 1965. Awarded the Order of Merlin, Second Class, in 1979, he eventually retired to Dorset alongside his wife Tina Goldstein.
Storia
Newt's passion for magical beasts began in childhood, heavily influenced by his mother who raised fancy Hippogriffs. By seven years old, he was already dismembering Horklumps in his bedroom. He entered Hogwarts in 1908 and was sorted into Hufflepuff House.
During his school years, he formed a deep bond with fellow outsider Leta Lestrange over their shared interest in magical beasts.
In the 1912–1913 school year, when an experiment by Leta involving a Jarvey endangered a student, Newt took the blame to protect her and was sentenced to expulsion, though Albus Dumbledore fought on his behalf to let him retain his wand. During World War I (1914–1918), Newt served in a confidential Ministry of Magic task force on the Eastern Front tasked with wrangling Ukrainian Ironbelly dragons. He subsequently joined the Ministry's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, starting in the Office for House-Elf Relocation before earning rapid promotions in the Beast Division.

Evoluzione
When first introduced on screen in 1926, Newt Scamander is an eccentric, socially awkward introvert who openly prefers the company of animals to humans. He actively avoids Ministry politics and wizarding conflict, traveling to New York merely to release a trafficked Thunderbird. However, his unyielding moral compass and empathy draw him into the rising threat of Gellert Grindelwald.
Throughout the Fantastic Beasts narrative, Newt evolves from an isolated field researcher into a reluctant hero and trusted leader within Albus Dumbledore's alliance. While maintaining his gentle demeanor and devotion to magical creatures, he steps up to lead complex missions in Paris and Bhutan. In his later career, Newt leverages his practical expertise to reform wizarding law—instituting the Werewolf Register and the Ban on Experimental Breeding—leaving a lasting institutional legacy on beast protection.
