NEOMORPH
The Neomorph (Plagiarus celerius) is an endoparasitic precursor species to the Xenomorph XX121, introduced in Alien: Covenant (2017). Born when Chemical A0-3959X.91-15 alters floral life to produce airborne spore pods, it gestates hyper-rapidly inside host organisms before emerging as a pale, highly aggressive predator with a short natural lifespan.
Cronologia
Biografia
The Neomorph is a volatile endoparasitic bio-weapon species spawned on Planet 4 after the synthetic David 8 unleashed Chemical A0-3959X.91-15 upon the Engineer population. Unlike the biomechanical Xenomorph XX121, the Neomorph is an entirely organic predator.
Its lifecycle begins when disturbed fungal egg sacs release airborne microscopic spores called motes, which enter host organisms through orifices such as the ears or nose to rewrite host DNA and gestate a larval Bloodburster. In 2104, USCSS Covenant crew members Ledward and Hallett became the first human hosts infected on Planet 4.
Ledward's parasite violently emerged from his back aboard a lander, triggering a fatal explosion, while Hallett's parasite burst from his mouth. The resulting Neomorphs exhibited extreme feral aggression, stalking the surviving crew through wheat fields, severing the synthetic Walter's hand, killing security officer Ankor, and attacking Daniels before one was shot dead by Rosie. The surviving Neomorph quickly grew into a full bipedal adult and infiltrated David's temple, where it decapitated and fed on Rosie. David attempted to communicate with and tame the creature, observing its non-aggressive posture toward synthetics. However, Captain Christopher Oram discovered the Neomorph and shot it dead, ending its brief life.
Storia
The origins of the Neomorph stem from David 8's bombardment of Planet 4 using the Engineers' mutagenic pathogen Chemical A0-3959X.91-15. The black liquid corrupted the local ecosystem, causing fungal egg sacs to sprout across the landscape.
In expanded lore, the Union of Progressive Peoples (UPP) later harvested genetic remnants from Rodina Station under the Darkstar Program, cloning specimens dubbed 'Heomopfs' as controllable bioweapons due to their brief 24-hour lifespan.
Conceptually, the creature was conceived as a new, natural variation of the Xenomorph. Its visual and narrative roots trace back to H.R. Giger's 1979 concept art, the 'Beluga-Xenomorph' from Jon Spaihts' early Prometheus script Alien: Engineers, James Cameron's abandoned albino drone concepts from Aliens, and William Gibson's unproduced Alien III script featuring airborne fungal infections.

Evoluzione
The Neomorph undergoes a rapid five-stage evolution within a matter of hours. The cycle begins with fungal Egg Sacs, which release airborne, sand-grain-sized Motes when disturbed. Upon entering a host's ear or nose, the motes rewrite host DNA to form a larval Bloodburster, which uses sharp dorsal spines and a pointed head to tear through flesh and bone. The Bloodburster rapidly matures into a quadrupedal Neophyte (1.2 to 1.8 meters tall) with voracious carnivorous instincts.
Upon reaching full maturity, the adult Neomorph stands over 2.1 meters tall, adopting a bipedal stance, an elongated skull, translucent white skin, extendable gums with silver fangs, and a spiked fleshy tail. With a hyper-metabolism limiting its natural lifespan to roughly 24 hours, the adult's corpse decays into fungi that germinate new egg sacs. Later expanded lore shows human scientists under the UPP Darkstar Program reconstructing this genome to breed bioweapon variants known as 'Heomopfs'.

The airborne infection vector was derived from William Gibson's unproduced script for Alien III.
