Cronologia
Biografia
Napoleon Bonafrog is one of the four original Punk Frogs created when normal swamp frogs were exposed to mutagen in the Florida Everglades. Named after the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte by Shredder, he was initially trained to view the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as villains.
However, after clashing with the Turtles, Napoleon realized Shredder was manipulating them and chose to turn against the Foot Clan, forming a lasting friendship with Michelangelo.
Throughout the franchise's history, Napoleon serves as a recurring ally to the Turtles in various swamp-based and urban adventures. In the 1987 animated series, he lives in the swamps with his brothers while defending their turf. In the 2012 series, he appears as a timid, buck-toothed swamp frog, and in the IDW comic series, he is reimagined as a tough, leather-jacket-wearing member of a Mutant Town street gang.
Storia
Napoleon's origins begin in the Everglades, where Shredder found four mutated frogs and turned them into his personal strike force, convincing them that the Ninja Turtles were dangerous criminals.
Shredder tasked Napoleon and his brothers with stealing mutagen-building chemicals, but after meeting Michelangelo and the Turtles, Napoleon recognized Shredder's evil intentions and switched sides to fight alongside the Turtles.
In the IDW comic continuity, Napoleon's backstory is updated to fit the streets of Mutant Town. Believing the Splinter Clan had kidnapped their gang member Bonnie, Napoleon and the Punk Frogs attacked and burned down Splinter's Dōjō. During the resulting confrontation on the rooftops, Napoleon knocked Donatello and Alopex through a skylight. After retreating, Napoleon and his gang began to doubt the Turtles' guilt and turned their focus to defending their turf.

Evoluzione
Napoleon Bonafrog has evolved considerably since his 1988 animation debut.
Originally portrayed in the 1987 cartoon as a radical, whip-wielding swamp amphibian tricked by Shredder, he even underwent a physical transformation into a colossal, mindless monster in 'Napoleon Bonafrog: Colossus of the Swamps.' In the 2012 Nickelodeon series, Napoleon was redesigned into a timid, buck-toothed swamp frog wearing a unicorn t-shirt and a pink fanny pack, famously voiced by Jon Heder as an homage to Napoleon Dynamite. In the IDW comic series, he was re-imagined again into a tall, muscular street-gang member outfitted in a leather jacket and black jeans, blending classic whip combat with modern urban gang culture.
