Biografia

Nami, known by her epithet "Cat Burglar" Nami, is the navigator and cartographer of the Straw Hat Pirates and a Senior Officer of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

Born in the Oykot Kingdom and raised in Cocoyasi Village within the Conomi Islands of the East Blue, she is the third member to appear in the story and the second to officially join Monkey D. Luffy's crew during the East Blue Saga.

As navigator, Nami holds supreme authority over the ship's course, directing the crew through chaotic weather and treacherous ocean currents. Her ultimate goal is to draw a complete navigational map of the entire world. Though she initially entered into a temporary alliance with Luffy to rob pirates and buy back her village from the Fishman pirate Arlong, her true loyalty was secured when Luffy and his crew liberated her home. Since officially joining, Nami has served as the indispensable guide and financial manager of the Straw Hats across their journeys from East Blue to the New World.

Storia

Nami was born twenty years prior to the current storyline in the Oykot Kingdom. She was orphaned as an infant during a military conflict and rescued by another young orphan, Nojiko. Both girls were adopted by Belle-Mère, a wounded Marine officer who returned to Cocoyasi Village to raise them as her own daughters.

When the Fishman pirate Arlong invaded the Conomi Islands, he enforced a heavy monetary tribute on every resident. Lacking enough money to pay for her entire family, Belle-Mère sacrificed her life to save her daughters, executed by Arlong directly in front of Nami and Nojiko.

Recognizing Nami's extraordinary talent for cartography, Arlong forced her to become the Arlong Pirates' cartographer. Nami struck a secret deal with Arlong: if she could accumulate 100,000,000 Beli, she could buy Cocoyasi Village back. For eight years, Nami stole from pirates until meeting Luffy, who defeated Arlong after the pirate colluded with Marine Captain Nezumi to steal her savings.

LO SAPEVI?Her physical height increased from 169 cm to 170 cm over the two-year timeskip.

Evoluzione

Nami's growth throughout the series encompasses emotional maturity, physical changes, and dramatic power escalations. Initially a guarded thief who distrusted all pirates due to Arlong's trauma, Nami transformed into a deeply loyal crewmate after Luffy liberated her home. To mark her newfound freedom, she replaced her forced Arlong Pirates tattoo with a new emblem combining tangerines (mikan) and a pinwheel—tributes to Belle-Mère, Nojiko, and Genzo.

Her rising threat level is reflected in her bounties, which jumped from 16,000,000 Beli after Enies Lobby to 66,000,000 Beli after Dressrosa, and reached 366,000,000 Beli following the Raid on Onigashima. Combat-wise, Nami evolved from a basic bo-staff wielder into an elite weather sorceress. Her two years spent on the sky island of Weatheria studying meteorology under Haredas equipped her with Weather Balls and the Sorcery Clima-Tact. Her strength culminated during the Whole Cake Island and Wano sagas, where she tamed Big Mom's weather-cloud Homie, Zeus. Now permanently merged with her Clima-Tact, Zeus allows Nami to land high-caliber thunderbolt attacks, enabling her to defeat Beast Pirates Tobiroppo member Ulti.

LO SAPEVI?She spent her two-year timeskip training on Weatheria, a sky island specialized in meteorological science.
